Epcot strategy: Test Track or Soarin' first?

Hey, all.

We've got a big family trip coming up in a month, and I'm looking for advice on how to kick off our Epcot day.

The current touring plan is to hit Soarin' first, then all the other attractions in Future World West, then hit up Test Track around 11 a.m. We would likely have a 45- to 60-minute wait time for this since it's looking to be an 8/10 crowd level per UndercoverTourist.

But now I'm thinking to do the opposite: Test Track at rope drop, then zoom over to Future World West for everything else.

Our Tier 1 FastPass is already reserved for Frozen Ever After, so using a FastPass isn't an option.

Thanks for any help!

I would RD Soarin and then head to Test Track right after. If you're not planning on watching Illuminations that would be a good time to ride Test Track of you don't want to do it right after Soarin.

Yes, you very much want to do the opposite. If you don't have a FP+ for it, go right to Test Track. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200...just go to TT. The line builds fast, incredibly fast. You can do Soarin' right after that if you want. At 11am, your not waiting 45-60 minutes...you're probably waiting 90-120 minutes.

This would be true if it was predicted to be a 1 or 13 on a "crowd calendar" (I think crowd calendars are silly, so there's that...but it still holds true regardless of how busy it is).

If you can't do FPs, RD Test Track, then head over to Soarin'. You didn't mention FEA, but if you want to do that make sure to head over before 11 AM when the wait is shorter. Ideally, I would FastPass Test Track and RD Soarin'. Test Track is popular, but you should still be able to get a FP for it if you don't wait until the last minute.

Personally we would RD Soarin.

We use the single rider option at Test Track. Always saves a ton of time and you don't need to burn a FP. If your party doesn't have to be seated next to each other, or in the same vehicle, it makes for a great option. You can even still do the whole "design your vehicle" activity and load it onto your magic band for the single rider line. To do this, go into the gift shop area at the exit of test track. Near where the riders exit the ride, there are stations where you can design a vehicle. Perform that step, and then when you go through the single rider line, skip the limited car design step and continue to the ride. When you scan your band before getting into the ride vehicle, the car design that you performed in the ride exit area will show up.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

This is a first trip for 4 members in our party, and two of them are 9 and 12 years old. Epcot is going to be our first park and we know they'll love both Soarin' and Test Track, but we just want to be efficient with our time.
