Which restaurant in Epcot would you pick for DS's 10th birthday?? I don't want something too stuffy and rigid. Epcot is his favorite park so we will be there that day for sure. This is the only ADR I'm having trouble picking. I thought CM at first but he's not crazy about character meals. Thanks! :goodvibes

My DS is 11 and he LOVES Teppan Edo -- it's fun, with a festive atmosphere, and if your son likes steak or chicken he'll be really all set (the food is cooked very simply, and served with a variety of dipping sauces on the side).

What's his favorite food?

Steak? Le Cellier (where we did my dd's 10th.)

Asian? 9 Dragons or Teppan Edo or Tokyo Dining

Or if all else fails, Coral Reef is just plain cool!

He will still be eating from teh kids meal since we are on the DDP and check in when he's 9. He's a bit picky but we can usually find something for him. It basically comes down to him liking plain foods. Teddan Edo is ok because e likes grilled chicken and rice as long as the sauces are on the side which they are. We have Benihana's here so I should take him on a trial run there and see how he likes it.

Other's I'm thinking is Biergarten, Tutto and Coral Reef. We did LeCellier last trip and he did like it but it's a bit boring for the kids. Also I would like to get a Mickey Head cake ordered for our meal.

This is all a surprise trip so I can't ask him.

If he's picky, I'd skip Biergarten. We went there when my boys were 6, 12 and 14 - none of them would eat anything!! They enjoyed the show, but all they ate was some of the birthday cake they brought me.

Both of the ones I was going to suggest have already been mentioned.

I think Biergarten is a great choice. It is not stuffy at all; it is a lot of fun. The food choices are very German but there is also the standard kid section of the buffet with choices such as macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets. When I was there for my birthday this year they gave me a card signed by the staff, a gingerbread cookie, and a song.

Teppan Edo is also good. There is the interaction with the chef and the cook at the table fascinates the boys in my life. Even if your son is a picky eater the chicken and rice should be good. When I was there on my birthday this year they gave me the choice of ice cream or ginger cake, a paper chefs hat with my name (which is still being proudly displayed on top of our refrigerator), and a song.

I think you could have a really great time at either one. On my actual birthday we went to Biergarten for lunch and Teppan Edo for dinner. Biergarten is my all time favorite and I have taken my brother there (he just turned 10) and he is an extremely picky eater and we were able to find something for him to eat.
