route-1.jpg

Im looking at a map of the epcot resort area, and i was wondering are you actually able to walk from the boardwalk resort to the yacht and beach beach?? how long would it take?

cause to me, looking at the map it looks as if you have to walk pass the dolphin and swan over a dock then you get there? is this right?? :confused3

or could a get a boat from boardwalk to Yacht and beach? i dont know how the stops work though, i might end up in ecpot or MGM? how long would this take if its possible? am i able to get on the boats if im not staying at an epcot resort, i'll be at POP??

sorry about all the Q's!

You can walk to the Beach Club/Yacht Club from Boardwalk. There is a bridge along the way towards EPCOT that's the fastest way. You could, if you wanted, take the long way around and go by Swan/Dolphin, but I'd take the bridge. It takes maybe 10 minutes to walk.

I'm not sure exactly how the boat goes -- I've only stayed at BC/YC and when we did that, I think that the boat went from BC/YC to Swan/Dolphin, to DHS. I think it picks up Boardwalk before BC/YC.

I've never taken the boat to EPCOT because when staying at the Beach Club, I just walked to EPCOT.

Anyway, there is a bridge that's faster than walking down the longer way by the Swan and Dolphin. Hope this helps!

I am sorry that I do not have a map ... I am sure that one will be posted soon by another member! However, I can answer your question! :thumbsup2

The quickest way to get to Yacht & Beach Club is to take the walkway from the Boardwalk towards Epcot. When you come to the T-intersection you will go LEFT towards the resorts instead of RIGHT for the International Gateway of Epcot. Should take about 10 minutes, give or take, depending on who is walking, if your pushing a stroller, etc.

You can take the "Friendships" but it would take much longer. They are on a route that goes from Epcot to Y&B to Boardwalk to Swan&Dolphin and then HS (MGM) and then reverses. (I think I have the order right, if not, I am sure someone will correct me!) Nice ride, but much quicker to walk!

You can also walk from Boardwalk to Y&B in the other direction, passing the Swan and Dolphin, but it will take about 20 minutes, give or take.

The boats are a fun way to see the resorts from a different perspective and you can certainly ride them! All Disney guests can use all of Disney's transportation.

Hope this helps!

Sure you can.

A lot of folks will say it is a five minute walk, but it is 15-20 minutes. Maybe a couple less if you chug.

It looks really close in the pictures, though.

It's probably about 10 minutes, depending on your pace. (via Epcot bridge)

You can also go around by S/D. maybe 15 to 20 that way, maybe longer if you are slow.

The boat goes from HS -to S/D to BC/YC to BWK to Epcot.

There is also a reverse boat going from Epcot to BWK to BC/YC to S/D to HS. you can hop on any or all legs of this trip.

The area is really pretty at night.

If you aren't going to a park, one of the better places to park is the HS lot. From any park you can hop on any bus to any of those resorts. There are also lots of dining choices in that area. If you don't have an ADR, check out the S/D eateries. They aren't on DDP, so they have some fo the best odds in TS. Otherwise beahes and Cream doesn't take ADR's. I think ESPN doesn't either.

Oh, you can also access teh area via the back exit of Epcot - Between France and GB.

is this the route you would take then?

oh wait is that the slow route would you actually walk at the bottom around the lake?

I would walk the bottom route that is shown in red on your first post ... I know that it looks twice as long but I think that is due to the fact that the map is not to scale.

It looks like they have pushed all the buildings together on the map and then shoved them to the top, causing the bottom path to look much longer. Robo's maps are actual pictures and are taken from above (WAY above! ;) ) so you can get a better perspective.

Also, you should probably consider where you are starting from and where you want to end up because both resorts are large and a bit spread out. I suggested my route because we are always at the BC or BCV and that is the best way for us. If we were at the YC it would probably make more sense to go the opposite way. So, where are you starting from and where do you want to end up?!?!? :goodvibes

your map isn't quite right. Look at robo's map. The route from Beach Club to boardwalk on the Epcot side looks longer on your map but it's really not. The whole boardwalk area is not that big. It is basically a big circurlar boardwalk around a lake. So imagine if you could squish the map and make the blue area more of a circle. The beach club adn boardwalk resorts are much closer together than it looks. You can stand anywhere in the boardwalk area and clearly see the other resorts and entrances. So don't worry about getting directions or getting lost. It's pretty much impossible. Just head toward the pretty pastel mutlicolored buildings and you'll do fine.

The boats do follow a specific path. The docks at the Epcot resorts have two lines. Make sure you read the sign and are in the right line when you are waiting. The whole trip from Epcot to DHS on a boat takes at least 30-40 minutes. The average time between docs is 8 minutes. Meaning if you miss a boat you can speedwalk to the next doc and catch it there. I've done this before.

If you're gonna be in the Epcot resort area look into renting a surry bike. They are so much fun. You can't really use them as transportation because you have a set rental period and you have to return it but it's a fun ride around the boardwalk.

thank you everybody. i think the map i used is an actually an offical disney one, so they obviously hadnt got there maps very much to scale then?? lol

The walk between BW and YC is pretty equidistant with the walk from BW to BC. It's almost the same either way.
But, it does depend on where you are starting from at BW and where you're going to at YC/BC. Sometimes it's quicker to go past the ESPN Club to get to BC, while it may be quicker to go past JellyRolls to get to the YC. You don't really go past the S/D. You do go up a sloping walkway, as you exit the BW area, that puts you at a bridge area. If you go left, you'll cross the bridge to the S/D area. If you go right, you'll cross a different bridge to the YC/BC area.
It should take about 10 mins, either way you walk. And it's a pretty easy walk.
I never recommend taking the boat unless someone in the group has an issue with walking. It just takes too darn long.
If you wanted to go to DHS, it takes about 20 or so mins to walk there from BW..at a nice even pace. I can make it in a bit under 15 but I'm moving right along. Or you can take the boat...a bit longer but more relaxed.
