Epcot plan - possible?

Such fun trying to balance everyone's "wants" list!

My husband loves Illuminations and wants to try to catch it one more time. He also likes to watch the barges come out onto the lagoon (which usually happens around 5-ish). Does this sound possible, or are we pushing our luck?

5-5:15 watch the barges come out from WS.
Head down IG and pick up an Uber at Boardwalk to WL
6:30 ADR at Storybook
8-ish PM pick up an Uber back to Boardwalk and return to Epcot
Catch Illuminations from somewhere near France/IG.

We plan on hitting morning EMH at Epcot for rides, then spending the rest of the day in WS.

Feasible, or pressing our luck?

Possible, but you will be rather anxious and likely "checking the time" the whole evening.
If that's OK, go for it.

Thanks! We tend to tour pretty loosely for the majority of the trip, so having one evening where we're watching the clock a bit won't stress me out LOL. I figured Uber from Boardwalk would be faster than trying to haul back to the front of the park for buses. I've been seeing reports of Storybook taking about an hour and a half, hopefully that's still about right!

It begs the question...why do you have to do it that way?
Why not stay at EPCOT and eat at Storybook another day?

One time we ate at Victoria and ALberts but then had a fireworks cruise after...we had to rush out of V&A ...why put pressure on yourself?

I don't think you'll make it...

The only way you might even make it is:

First, that's if your reservation at 6:30 is in fact at 6:30 and doesn't get delayed (which 9 out of 10 times, they typically tell you there is a delay and since this a new dining experience the chance of this is likely).
Second, that's if you finish your dinner and get into your Uber by 8 (that's an hour and a half).
Third, you'd have to determine what the fastest route would be to Illuminations from this point: Boardwalk, or Epcot.
Fourth, if you do not have traffic you might get there around 8:15pm.
Fifth, you'd have about an estimated 45 minutes to walk into the park and find a spot for Illuminations.

Which the last part does sound like a lot of time, but depending on where you're dropped off at Boardwalk, or Epcot, it will take a decent amount of time to walk to a certain point, go through security, and walk into the park. After that, then you'd have to walk to a decent spot to see Illuminations.

And you'll get those 45 minutes, only if all those ifs become reality.

EDIT: I don't mean to be a kill joy, but I'm the type of person that always arrives early and has learned that you cannot over plan at Disney and everything in Disney takes more time than you typically imagine.

Based on how we tour, and what the kids' favorite parks are, it just kind of fell that way if we want to use dining credits for the meal (we do, and only have the dining plan on the first half of a split stay - 4 nights on DDP, 4 nights room only). We had planned on doing HDDR on one of the MNSSHP days where we'd need to leave the parks early, but it would be an option to move HDDR to another night and pay OOP for it. I've played around with a few options for each of the 8 days we're at the parks (we have 7 day PH plus one night with MNSSHP tickets), trying to slate time for something on everyone's "must do" list - it's not easy for sure!

Honestly I'm more concerned about the timing of dinner than anything else. We prefer to watch Illuminations from the area near France that's right next to IG, so walking time is quite literally the time it takes us to walk from BWV through the IG. The last few trips that's been about a 10-15 minute walk. Making a 6:30 reservation after walking from the America Pavilion to BWV and picking up an Uber there is where I see the biggest time crunch.
