Epcot NYE fireworks from Boardwalk area

i was wondering if anyone had ever watched the Epcot NYE fireworks from the Boardwalk area (including all the way around the lake)? If so, how was the view? I’ve felt that the view of Illuminations from this vantage wasn’t great because so much of Illuminations is close to the water. Also, does this area get crowded? Any other recommendations?

Epcot fireworks, in general, cannot be well-viewed from outside World Showcase.
