Everyone is saying around memorial day, 2003

We are hoping for sometime this year, but with Disney you can't predict anything. I know that they said Memorial Day.

Word on the street has it that it's delayed significantly, and it's a safe bet that it will not open by Memorial Day.
On the official front there is absolutely no new info coming out, and that's unusual for a major attraction if it were really within a couple of months of its official opening.

Has anyone been lately and seen what's going on at least from the outside?

Last time I was there the building still had scaffolding. If the building is fully constructed (which it likely is) its probably just a "ride" problem and it may open anyway. As I recall Test track opened prematurely, the display etc. was complete but the ride had some bugs still and they had it working when they could. They may do the same for Space.

I was there this past week. The outside "looks" finished. Signs are up, etc. The first couple of days we were there, there was no activity. Only on one day did we see a couple of guys putting on what looked like some finishing touches to the exterior paint.

I took the Backstage Magic tour, and we went to the shop where they are making the seats for this ride. Don't know that I can describe them, but all 4 people will sit in one row and each person will sit right next to the others they are working with and their control panel is right in front of them. Each person will have their own responsibility. The shape of the seats is kind of like the doombuggies, except that it is enclosed in the front where the doombuggy is open and it is only open on the side where you get in. Kind of like the old Horizon seats, but the front is closed in and you enter from the side and not from the middle front. Hope that is not too confusing. The seat or module or pod or whatever it will be called is all white on its exterior.

Wow, that mans they still have not installed all the pods yet I was hoping that rumor would be outdated by now

Latest update is from Feb 18th from WDW Magic. No word on hard or soft opening but they have been testing it.Mission Space
