We are headed to Epcot, for the day, this Saturday. My 17 yr old usually watches the dog while we go on day trips but she is going to Busch Gardens this Saturday also. I was hoping that Epcot had a kennel I could keep my Jack Russell in. Anyone know about the kennels at WDW?

Thanks

There is a kennel at Epcot. It is off to the left of the ticket booths at the entrance.

Thanks SafetyMom,

Do you park as usual and walk your pet to the kennel or do you go in a different way? I have never seen pets at WDW in all the years I've been going except the companion type dogs. I know I've never seen a dog on the trams. Also do I need to go back often to feed or walk my dog? Lastly are they kept in small cages or runs? He's a Jack Russell and I think he would almost die if he was couped up all day and half the night.

Any and all info is appreciated

Thanks

I used the Epcot Kennel over the President's Day holiday this past February. It was a great experience. All the staff were really nice and the facility was very clean. When you get to the stand to pay for parking, just tell them you are going to the kennel. You can drive all the way up and park right near the kennel and the entrance. I would highly recommend them!

You park as usual and walk to the kennel. I am not familiar with the kennel operation.

You need to walk your dog yourself. My BIL kenneled his dog and cat back in September and he paid about $9 per day. Each park has their own kennel and one in Fort Wilderness.

The kennels open one hour before park opening and closes one hour after park closing. They don't take reservations, so it's first come first serve. The animals are cared for by kennel staff and there is an on-call vet from AK.

If you do want to kennel, you must have current papers for your dog from the vet, including shot records, etc before you kennel him. You can visit the dog anytime the kennel is open.

My BIL was quite happy and satisfied with the level of care they gave at the kennel. He used the one at FW and the kennel staff there played with his cat and dog and was very attentive. He says he would definitely do it again if he needs to.

Price for a kennel is $6 per pet per day. The Epcot kennel offers a dog walking service for $2.50 per walk. There are no reservations -- kennels are available on a first come, first served basis.

Walt Disney World is a member of the American Boarding Kennel Association.
Dogs must have proof of the following vaccinations, given by a licensed Veterinarian: Rabies, D.H.P. (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza), Parvovirus, Bordetella. There are no exceptions -- no proof of vaccination, no boarding. If you choose to walk your dog instead of paying for those walks, you are required to walk your dog twice a day. Dogs less than 1 year of age (puppies) are required to be walked 3 times a day. All dogs and cats have to be a minimum of 8 weeks old to be kenneled.

Kennel Sizes

Small pet kennel--25.5" x 20" x 23.3"
Medium pet kennel--34" x 34" x 34"
Large pet kennel--55" x 45" x 36"
Outside kennels (available on request) -- large kennels, sizes vary slightly

Thanks

That's just the info I was looking for. You guys are great!

How quick do the kennels fill up? We will be getting to Epcot around 9am, will that be early enough to get a spot?

I'm going to call my vet and make sure we are all up to date now. Which I'm pretty sure we are. :)

Thanks again
