Stunning photos!! Especially enjoyed the sundown and koi pond in the rain pics.......
thankyou so much for sharing these. Japan is my favorite area to hang out in at Epcot and I'm feeling "homesick". Your pictures helped me kick the blues tonite! :sunny:

This is remarkable! Absolutely gorgeous!
What settings did you use? Did you use a filter?

I am curious about the sunset picture as well. I have taken numerous sunset pictures. I cannot capture the richness of the colors as you have. Do you have any tips?

Beautiful photos. I love the lucky cats. We have several of those in our home.... I think they are cute.

The sunset is stunning - I NEVER see good sunsets at "The World" - I'm just never in the right place at the right time!!!

.... I never answered your questions!!

No, I did not use a filter. I attribute the amazing light condition to mother nature and luck. Light like this doesn't occur very often (requires sun breaking through rain-quality clouds right at sundown) - and it is rare that we are outside, standing still (not running for an attraction or reservation). Should ALL of these conditions exist, the light only last about 5 - 10 minutes - so choosing a backdrop nearby is also a must.

I know that professionals anticipate all this stuff and are ready and waiting when the conditions occur. I just got lucky - and I had a great camera to capture it. I am truly impressed with digital.

I don't even have a protective filter on the lens yet. I bought a set of them (55mm), but I didn't realize that the IS 28-135 lens had a larger circumference (72mm) - so I have never used them.

is this canon 28-135? just wondering due to another thread that said their's weren't sharp and i thought mine was and i'd consider these sharp as well...maybe just what copy you get?

all nice photos...although i always thought it was "talking" drums so no wonder no one ever knew what i was talking about:rolleyes1 :)

The Image Stabilizer 28-135 (ultrasound - whatever that means for image technology!)

PS - Nice taiko-ing with you!!!!

Fantastic photos. I just got the same lens - so that means I will get pics as amazing as yours - right????? :lmao:

I can dream.......

love the pics! thanks for sharing! :)

...mmm plum wine...

Fine pictures. I enjoyed the first two particularly.

HI Looked at your photos on smugmug. Esp. the disney ones of the flowers.
I will be going to flower festival. How do you avoid the visual disturbance from
the netting in the butterfly area? ( other than avoid getting it in the shot?)
Thanks.

I haven't taken pictures through netting - actually I don't even remember what pictures I have on smugmug, as I was trying it out and never returned (not becuase it wasn't good - just didn't have the time to test and think through the assortment of supplier options). I've only been to F&G festival once - don't recall the netting-challenge you mention!
