EPCOT International Gateway Entrance?

Is it only open when World Showcase is open? Or can it be used going directly to/from Future World before WS is open?

I'm asking because currently I have a brunch reservation at Cape May Cafe for the Monday after the Marathon Weekend (would prefer 'Ohana, but they don't like solo travelers there I'm finding) at 10:30.

I will be staying at POFQ and will not have a car. So I'd thought of going to EPCOT for the day and using the IG entrance having used that to leave EPCOT and go to Beaches and Cream more than once, but I realized that WS doesn't open until 11. I'd prefer not to take a taxi, but if the IG entrance isn't open until WS opens at 11, I'm unsure of what my other option would be.

You can use it when International Showcase is closed. There will just be a rope across the bridge leading to most of the International Gateway, but you are allowed to walk through the portion that is England and Canada to get to Future World area.

Thanks. Can you use it going FROM Future World to the Yacht and Beach Club when WS is closed also? Just wanting to clarify as I'd hate to get to EPCOT and learn that it's only one way until 11.
