I am curious about coming in one morning to EPCOT through the Int Gateway, but the idea is purely based around getting a chance to photograph WS and FW from that direction.

Would there be good opportunities to take pictures if we did Rope Drop from the Gateway?

Yes.

You will have access as far as France, to the south.
To the north, you will be able to walk past UK and Canada,
then around past Mexico and as far as "Norway" (because of the Akershus breakfast going on.)

The rest of WS will be roped-off until about 11am.

In May 2012, we stayed at the Yacht Club and entered Epcot from the International Gateway. We were admitted a little earlier than the front entrance. I can't remember why, but I think it was because we were staying at a resort on that side. The park was basically deserted, which allowed me to get some beautiful photos of the topiaries and flower designs as we walked to from the Gateway to FW. We did not walk through WS. Those photos are some of the best I took during our whole trip.

Just know, not all of WS is open until 11 am. If you enter IG at rope drop, you will be able to walk around France, UK, Canada, Mexico and Norway. Everything between Norway and France will be roped off.

Doesn't suprise me that we wouldn't be able to walk all the way around. But have a different perspective on the pictures than one would generally be able to get I think will be really cool. We will not be rushed to get over to TT or anything else, I think we will do this.

Where would you park to do this? Or are you staying at an Epcot resort?

Well, that will be the final decision to make. We are Staying at Riverside. I was thinking about just dropping $5 into Uber and getting a ride over to BC.

I don't think they let you walk around France. They usually have the bridge from UK to France roped off. You can stand there and see it but you can't enter the French pavilion area.

France has breakfast options so they are indeed open.

There are excellent opportunities for photographs (of your own) and also if you head across the bridge to France you can get some great shots. Only the bakery is open in France but they will let you go there.

I stayed at BWI in January 2014 and entered Epcot via IG at RD one morning. I have a photo of the fountain in Future World with literally no one in the photo. It's probably my favorite picture I have from all of my trips to Disney purely because of that.
