EPCOT Illuminations video

Does anyone know of a downloadable "high quality" video of Illuminations-Reflections of Earth?

I downloaded an Illuminations remix about a year or so ago but would like to get a higher quality one. Did a lot of searching but could not find.

Here is a link to the Dis Unplugged video, I don't know if it's any better quality than what you already have. And it's a bit different than the normal Illuminations because it was shot on Epcot's 25th Anniversary.

Thanks for the replies. The one that I have was called "Illuminations Remix" and is just under 50mb and is about 13 minutes long. It was done by someone from a couple of filmings and then mixed with the music. Came off of a server from Univ. of Chicago if I remember correctly, but I've slept a lot since then.

I did find one this morning on the WDWMagic site but you have to pay a monthly fee to download the videos. It is about 153mb for about 15 minutes so I would assume that it is a much higher quality.

I am going to join for a month, about $4, so that I can download it and check it out.

Well, just blew $3.50. Saw the video that was supposed to be high resolution and while it was a bit better than the one that I have, it had none of the music on it, just a bunch of oohs and aahs everytime the fireworks went off.

Oh well, I've used the one that I have quite a lot so I guess I will just keep it.

Orlando Attractions magazine

Scroll down a ways and you'll find a 265 meg 640x480 video of Illuminations including the amazing 25th anniversary tag. This is the best, easiest-to-get Illuminations video I've found. There are also many other very good videos here, and they are easy to download, much better than the lousy-quality YouTube stuff.

If you want better, you'll have to go to MouseBits - but this takes a little bit of effort, using BitTorrent and all, which can be tricky to set up. The reward is at least one very high-quality true high-definition 1920x1080) video, 662 megs, shot by someone called Keichi. It's from the entrance to World Showcase and is great. You do need a pretty fast PC to play back video like this, though. The sound in the 25th anniversary one is better, though.

I would definitely not recommend paying for any Disney videos unless they are at least somewhat official, or done by a reputable place like Extinct Attractions. Homemade videos on eBay or similar are likely to be just other people's videos burnt to disc without their permission.

Kind of wanted to clarify my post #5 above.

I want to make it clear that I am in no way downgrading anything about WDWMagic site. When I went back and reread my post it somewhat intimated that I was unhappy with the site and the cost. That is not the case. I have great respect for people who put together and manage these sites for us. In this case, the video was not what I was expecting and that was all. I hope to have time in the next few days to examine the entire site further for additional content.

I was not asked to review this post by anyone and decided on my own that I may have cast the WDWMagic site in a bad light by wording it the way I did.

You don't need Quicktime (which continues to compete with RealPlayer to be the worst media player of all time, or at least the worst modern one)... I use Zoom Player, which is a pretty advanced player but still fine for an average user. I bought the Pro version but there is a free version that is good. It includes an "install center" that automatically downloads necessary codecs and such, including everything you need to play back mp4 and most Quicktime videos, and it will play them much better than Quicktime will.

Actually, I wrote out some stuff and then took a closer look at the site, and it looks like most of their content is produced by the site creators themselves (I was figured that it was mostly user-created) and there's a lot of stuff there. I am still uncomfortable with sites charging for user-created content when the original users receive nothing (as appears to be the case with some of their photos and videos) but site hosts and users are free to do whatever they want, obviously.

Downloaded ZoomPlayer and interestingly enough, now the mp4's play in Win MediaPlayer. Must be some of the Codecs that ZoomPlayer uses that allow WinMediaPlayer to accept mp4's also.

Yeah, it's probably Zoom Player's Install Center. Actually, I'll betcha dollars to doughnuts that it's ffdshow (installed by Install Center) that got them working in Media Player (and any other standard Windows media player.) ffdshow is nearly essential if you're interested in video playback on a PC nowadays.
