just how long does it take to walk from one end of epcot to the other? say from the main entrance to the american adventure....

Are you talking about just walking there without stopping at any of the attractions? We have been to EPCOT eleven times and I can give you bunches of tips if you'll let me know what kind of touring you will be doing. Lisa

To walk back to front at EPCOT assuming minimal crowds, no stops to look at stuff and a brisk walking pace, can be done in about 15 minutes. A more leasurely pace with no stops is probably 20 to 25 minutes.

again, are you talking a brisk walk.....say to get into the park and truck it back there for a dinner reservation or catch a show at a particular time.....OR......are you talking, how much time should i plan on to enjoy the entire park.

i am going to assume that you are asking the first option.....you should be able to get from the park entrance to AE pavilion in about 20 min (that is not running, not dragging the kids screaming for you to slow down) that could be a bit less or more depending on the crowd volume.

it once took me 30 min to walk around WS, but that was when it was very crowded and i was doing the loop looking for someone.

If you are coming into Epcot just for an event/ressie in the back of WS, why not park at the Boardwalk resort and take the boat over to the "back" entrance to Epcot in the WS. (it is called the international gateway entrance, i believe.) you could be to the American Adventure pavilion in 5 min from there. (again, depending on crowd volume. don't try to get there in 5 min if it is 10 min before NYE fireworks or Illuminations.)

As to parking at Boardwalk, you are only supposed to park there if you're using the Boardwalk facilities. I agree it's not as heavily monitored as other resort parking, since there are things to do there, but they will ask you at the gate what you're there for.

I agree that 15-20 minutes is a good estimate of the time to get back there. I walk pretty quickly, and it took me 20 minutes with a stop by Soarin to pick up FPs.

thanks all! since they changed the CP narrator (really was looking forward to cuba), DH would rather see neil patrick harris. who knows, maybe we'll try to see edward james olmos too! anyways, that means switching plans around. we have ADR for boma the night we'd try to see neil harris. i just needed to figure out what our time frame would be. sorry, should have made it more clear!

WARNING, Some may think I am a Bad MOM but here is my story...
It took me with a 4 year old in a stoller 12-15 minutes to walk VERY FAST(almost jog)from Soarin' to the BCV. My son was not wearing his sneakers he was no tall enought for Soarin, so I almost ran back to the BEACH club and then ran back to Test Track to meet the rest of our party, took about 22 minutes I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS, I had shin splints for the rest of the trip BUT my Son was a VERY happy boy

Actually parking at the Boardwalk if for the registered guests of the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villas. Folks parking there, or other Epcot area resorts, to enter Epcot through through the International Gateway are taking parking spots from registered guests or guests with resort dining reservations.

If the OP is coming into Epcot "just for an even/ressie in the back of WS" they have several options of entering Epcot. From their resort they could take the bus to the front of the park; or if at a MK resort, take the monorail system to the front of the park; or if coming from MGM they could take the Friendship Boats to Epcot. Additionally, if access thru the IG is important, then take the MGM bus from their resort instead of the Epcot bus and then take the Friendship boat to Epcot. Just allow enough time for the boat to arrive and for it to travel to Epcot. It will be a longer trip timewise but will be less walking.

It is just under a mile to go from the entrance of Epcot to the American Adventure. Depending on how fast you walk and how busy it is, the times are probably 15-25 minutes.
