Hi,

I am going to disney for 6 nights on Oct 30th staying at BCV. I haven't been in 11 years and this is my kids first time going obviously. I have a 6, 4 & 6month old. I'm wondering if it's even worth going to Epcot since they are so young this trip, should I just focus on MK, AK and MGM?

Thanks for any input!

Jill

My girls LOVE Epcot. I know we may be the minority, but they actually ask to go there. They are 4 and 3 (the 8 month old is just along for the ride..lol). They love Turtle talk with Crush..very cute...,spaceship earth, imagination, Soarin, The Maelstrom (and they LOVE getting Rice Creams while they are in Norway), The love making the masks and then getting them stamped in each country.
There is so much to do there, and you can make it really fun..i like to explain the different countries to them and bring them into the different shops in each country.
I definitely say go..if you go at night you can watch Illuminations too :P

My kids were 2 and 4 when we went in January and they loved it, too. The Epcot Character Connection was awesome- tons of characters without a wait, and they really loved the boat ride on World Showcase lagoon. Their absolute favorite was Turtle Talk with Crush at the Living Seas. We even went back to ride Soarin later in the trip. I think if you have the time, check it out! It can be lots of fun for kids!

Hi. I have 3 boys and a 1 year old DD. We have been to Disney 3 times. The first two trips, I swore off Epcot. I read the guidebooks and decided there wasn't enough for my boys to do or see. They were 4, 2, and 2 the first trip and then 6, 4, and 4 on the second trip. This last trip when the boys were 7, 5, and 5, we went to Epcot for the first time and they loved it. I think they would have loved it when they were 6, 4 and 4 but I didn't take them then. We had so much fun in Future World that we had to race through the countries and didn't even make it through them. If your kids like video games then you need to go to Innnovation and allow them time to explore. My kids loved Test Track, even my Matthew, my scaredy cat. Soarin is not to missed if they meet the height requirement. They loved everything in Future World. Turtle Talk is great. There is a long line for this though, so do this early. Spaceship Earth has some pretty cool scenes but it is dark. It didn't bother my boys. Journey into your Imagination wasn't my favorite but they liked it a lot. Epcot was absolutely the best place to get pictures with the characters too. There is an entire pavilion devoted to this and the lines weren't long at all. It is very organized, and the characters had time to interact with the kids. I would at least try to spend a half day at Epcot but my guess is you will need more. We went for a day from opening until 9 pm. The kids couldn't make it through the fireworks but they are wonderful. On our last day we decided to do two parks. The kids voted and we went to MK in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon.

when we went last year my DS were 3 and 5. My DS3 was a 1/2 inch too short to go on Soarin' and Test Track. They were very picky about the height requirement. DS5 loved both of those rides, so Epcot was worth it for him. They also liked the ride through Mexico and the Figment ride. They sort of liked the Living Seas and Space Ship Earth. My kids must be party poopers, cause they weren't interested the passports or the masks. My DS3 slept thru Illuminations, I don't know how because it was very loud. We didn't think they would like Inventions so we past it up, but now wish we hadn't. We are going back this Dec. and are planning on going back to Epcot.

last year we only figured in one day (first family trip) out of 6 - now this year we are doing 2 1/2 out of 7. DD (4) loved the countries Kidcot stations, Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Soarin, Illuminations, Mexico ride. Passports were fun. Living Seas was closed so she is looking forward to that and Crush show. Mission Space had cool games for her to play (while Mom and dad took turns on ride), Inventions will be cool to look at and the Coke taste test. Depends on the kids but we ran out of time for one day and look forward to it this year.

Another vote for Epcot. After MK, it is my DD(6)'s favorite park.

In Future World, she LOVES Spaceship Earth (or, "BIG BALL" as DS3 calls it) and we ride it over and over and OVER again. She also loves Test Track, Soarin' and Journey into Imagination. Turtle Talk was closed last time, but I'm sure they'll love it next time. They also loved The Land boat ride (science geek in me loves it, too) and on previous trips liked The Living Seas.

In World Showcase, she loves doing the Kidcot stations around the world, the boat rides in Mexico and Norway, eating in Germany (LOVES the oompah band), and getting pressed pennies in the different countries.

All in all, Epcot is where we seem to end up every day after our afternoon nap.

Epcot is actually our DD's favorite park although AK is a close 2nd. She likes MK for the Princesses (some of whom you can see in Epcot) and Toontown but that's about it. Epcot is so much more open and the WS in particular is much more relaxing than MK or MGM.

My 4 and 2 yo ds's as well as my 15 yo LOVE Epcot. The little ones loved the fountains, Club Cool, the ride in Mexico, Spaceship Earth, the different street performers and many other attractions that some people find boring. Haven't tried Turtle Talk yet but will next time as well as the Jr Chef program in the Land- I know my boys will love these things. Epcot seems to be a more relaxed atmosphere which my kids enjoy since they can really explore and take their time. They love MK too but burn out quickly.

My kids also loved Epcot, especially Test Track, Mission: Space, Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush, and the Kidcot stations in the countries. Even my youngest got into the last two things. They also liked some of the street performers in World Showcase. We even went back in an evening because we'd missed some activities before.

Another parent of a little one that loves Epcot.

Also thought I would point out this article from the Author of Walt Disney World with Kids: Insider's Guide to Epcot. It has a touring plan you don't have to follow but it does give you some ideas of the fun things Epcot has to offer the little ones.

If your dc like the character greets, when you go to Epcot make sure to check your times guide for when the Character Caravan will appear in different parts of Future World and World Showcase.

I've been bringing my DS4 since he was 6 months old and he's always enjoyed Epcot. It's been fun to watch how his experiences have changed depending on his age - looking at all the colors overhead as an infant, liking areas to run around at 2, etc. I think you'll get a kick out of seeing how differently your three experience the park!
