Those of you F&W fest fans who were worried about the return of the Brewers Dinner-- This just in-- from DDE:
:)

Ok, but I won't be going that week in November....I hope there are Brewer's Dinner dates in October. :)

I've never attended the F&W Festival and am looking foward to attending some of the events. Is it necessary to book before you arrive at DW or can you book events/special dinners on site with Guest Servcies?

If you have any other tips on how to enjoy the festival experience - it would be appreciated! :)

Most of these sell out! Book early! I think Party for the Senses was available late last year but some of the special dinners sold out on July 25!

Can't wait for the specifics!! We're hoping to make a quick trip if Chef Rick Bayless will be back this year.

The last two years, Rick Bayless was there during the last weekend of the festival. I can't go during that time, but I have eaten at his restaurant in
Chicago.

I did the first Lunch and Learn he did a couple of years ago, and boy, was it goooooood. Yum.

Last year, I did a Lunch and Learn with Brooke Vosika, from Four Seasons in NY, but now at the new Wynn Resort in Las Vegas. He was also very goooooood. Yum.

Has anyone attended any of the lunches or dinners as a vegetarian? I went to Party of the Senses a couple years ago, and although it was fun, there was almost nothing for me to eat....

I am wondering this too--would be great if there were significant vegetarian options.

Do I get a choice of what Country? I think I will do the Sushi and Sake, right UP my alley! ;)

I just dont get this. :confused3 This is the first time I am hearing that there are special events for the food and wine fest. My goodnesss, and all these years I have been going. I thought all it was. Was numerous stands from different countries where i could go from each country represented and sample food, and now thanks to the Disboard. I find out that F&W. Has a whole other entity. Well, now I must know. Everything. Are these events doable with children, no right? For, my whole family will be there Oct 17th- 26th. I was looking at sweet sundays. I am a sweets type of lady. So, has anyone done this, is this enjoyable? What chef did this last year. And someone mentioned paula deen. She is my all time favorite chef. What seminar will she be hosting. Oh, now I am going to fly off the charts with excitement, if someone tells me I can watch my favorite chef of all time prepare food, live, and in person. Oh, I feel as though. Im gonna lose it.  :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . :rotfl2:

The special events are for those 21 and over. The Sweet Sunday last year was my LEAST favorite event. If you want to start small, do a food and wine pairing. Coral Reef and Le Cellier were my favorites.

Paula Deen, if she attends, will probably only be there for a short period of time during the festival. We'll know more info when more details are announced.

You're welcome! :)

You get a choice of the venue, but the locations have their pairings on
certain days of the week. I did the Japan sushi and sake last year and loved
it. I think I did mine on a Monday. (I don't know if they're keeping the
same booking schedule, so I'm curious to know if they'll be consistent.)

I'm hoping they bring it back this year, as it appears that they aren't
doing the Brewer's Dinners back (except for the Nov 8th one).

I'm not sure what Disney calls them officially but there are FREE...first come first served demonstrations by guest chefs, some well-known, like Paula Deen, and others whom I did not recognize. The one we tried to get into was at that big roundish, dated looking building which appears to be built on the water. I think it is called the Odyssey (or something like that). Any age can attend. I took my 8 year old daughter. Earlier in the day when I stopped by to inquire but Paula's demo, I was told there was no need to be there early because none of the earlier demos had been filled to capacity. I think these free demos are held in other venues throughour Epcot, as well.

We got there 45 minutes early and there was a huge line wrapping around the building. They kept announcing that past a certain point in the line noone would be guaranteed a seat. We still waited, but when we were 15 spots away from getting in, they closed the doors. We did get a glimpse of her as she entered the auditorium. As I recall, she was going to make something gooey and sweet and very yummy sounding, like sweet potato torte (or maybe it was cheesecake) with maple sauce.

These are the type of events I want to know about. Anyone know what this series is called and when the SPECIFICS will be made public?

Last year Paula Deen did this special event: Lunch and Learn - At the Odyssey, watch the chef prepare a four-course lunch and enjoy with wines to complement the dishes.

Just to avoid confusion -

Lunch nad Learns are events that need reservations and cost money.

Authentic Tastes Lecture Series are the free ones that are first come first serve events.

I gave my DM and DS the Paula Deen Lunch and Learn last year and they loved it! They had the best time with her! :goodvibes

Could anyone expand on the Sweet Sundays? Either what you have or haven't liked? And does this one sell out as fast as the other events do?

Thanks!

Here are some more details and names. I don't see Paula Dean-sorry.
