***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Thanks so much for posting this, I took notes!:goodvibes

No problem and I am happy you took a look! Looking back for us it's like the Old Alka Seltzer ad -"I can't believe I ate the whole thing"!

Kabuki, you and your Jason are sooooooo cute! :goodvibes

Thanks for posting the link ... I just took a walk down food-memory lane! :rotfl2:

Thanks Brenda! That means a lot coming from you.. We think we are cute especially two or three booths (drinks) in! ;) :lmao:

here's what we are considering at this point ... knowing that things will likely change in the next ten days and knowing that we're likely to be shut out of some events since we're traveling next weekend:

10/11: Party for the Senseless
10/12: Sweet Sundays (Alice Medrich might be pretty good) or the French Regional Lunch
10/14: Champagne Brunch at Bistro ... still on the fence, depending on the price
10/16: Kitchen Conversations (the TBA bothers me but Caymus wineries is a very tempting taste treat)

That's it for now ... :confused3

I like how you say Party for the Senseless:rotfl2:

Well here's our list of events:

- sorry couldn't resist. On a serious note we've made the decision to not bother with any of it. The only thing where I would be able to eat is the Cheese & Wine one as I'm too fussy to do most of the others (oh or PFTS) but I don't think the price warrents what you get and reviews have been sketchy. I am disappointed but I am still excited about food and wine as haven't been since 07

The onlt F & W event that really interests us, is the Japan food & wine pairing from 3:30-5:00...Our last day of the trip is 11/3 and we thought it would be something different...Has anyone done this one before? Is it worth $55pp?

I'm really looking at doing one of the City events, but torn. I'm lacto-ovo veg, and last year was transitioning into it and had no trouble at the events/booths. DH is now concerned that any of the City events would be difficult, ESPECIALLY the New Orleans one (can we say seafood?).

Italy is Halloween night (party with friends), and Australia is the other one that interests me, but we're planning on doing the 10/18 PftS with Caymus and DH doesn't want to do a PftS the day after the City taste. Hell, I'm having a hard time convincing him to possibly do a PftS a week after the 10/18, for our anniversary.

We say this every year, but I really wish they'd post the menus for the walk-about events in advance.

Hey is there anywhere I can get tips/previews/reviews of this year's food booths (International Marketplaces)? I have never been to F&W before and I am going Oct 1st. I want to know what items are good and which ones not to miss! Thanks!

The good ones are the ones you think sound most delicious. Everyone's tastes are different! Just go, sample, sample, sample and have lot's of fun.

Does anyone know the correct day for the vertical wine tastings? The dates posted are Sundays, yet on the bottom it states event is Saturdays. Way to confuse us. :headache:

As there are no events posted on the official WDW website yet, all we know is what is posted on the unofficial sites.

Pending other discoveries of events, I'm juggling a lot.

10/16 Kitchen Conversations, featuring that famous chef, "TBA". (Caymus is the draw for me)
10/16 Wait list for the Jiko Wine Dinner (not an official part of the festival)
10/17** Reservation at Victoria and Albert's (solo)
10/18 Party for the Senses
10/19 French Regional Lunch: Burgundy - Maison Louis Jadot
10/19** Reservation at Victoria and Albert's (with Catherine and her mom)
10/20 Sushi and Sake pairing at Tokyo Dining

**Victoria and Albert's. It's all pending whether any Signature dinners are announced for Sunday, and whether or not any of us can get it. Or for that matter, whether it interests us or not. I'll either cancel the Friday one or tell Catherine to drop me from Sunday depending on how things go on 8/25.

I was originally thinking about going to the City Tastes on 10/17 but decided on V&A instead as an alternative.

Looks like a lot of us will be at the 10/18 party. :)

10/18 PFTS: DH and I will be there, too! I hope it doesn't sell out before we get tickets.

I noticed nothing has been posted for Signature dinners and it was also removed from the wdw info. Can it be possbile these will not be happening?:confused3 I really hope not!

We're going to PFTS on 10/18! :) What is the history of beer thing? Is that the one with the four samples of Sam Adams?

*NikkiBell*
PatriciaH
BriarRosie
Inkmahm

We will also be at PFTS on 10/18. Party on! I know DH and Dad will enjoy the Beer thing.
We are also going to the Sweet Sundays. Mom and DD14 are looking forward to that.

I wish Disney would hurry up and post the full brochure online...gettin' a little impatient :cheer2:

Me too...
We are PFTS on October 4th - but it does not otherwise seem to be a good week for Food and Wine unless Disney adds more tastings.

Signature Dining is listed under festival dining experiences. Of course there is no schedule, but at least it's still there w/ PFTS & regional feasts.

I hope they don't cancel these. Not sure if we can even get in, but would like to try.

We're doing PFTS 11/8, not sure what else.

I went to Epcot this week and the construction fences are up for the Food and Wine Festival!! The graphics on the fence advertising the festival are sooo cool!!! I am so excited for the festival if that's an indicator of how it'll look!:worship:

Pictures, pictures, we want to see pictures!

I am guessing there will be no signature dinners or exquisite evenings this year.
