Epcot F&W and crowds?

Does the F&W festival at Epcot cause heavier crowds on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? Usually Epcot is a good weekend choice but it would easy to avoid if crowds are up...especially for illuminations.

The F&W tend to be bussier on the weekends. Allot of the locals like myself flock there on several different weekends to take joy in the festivities.

We've been in WDW the last few years during the F&W fest. We've always avoided the weekends after our first expierence. It was the only time I've ever found Epcot to be busy. We usually go enjoy the F&W fest during the week. It is incredible though, and shouldn't be missed.

I also avoid the Saturdays. I found them very crowded. I figure the locals can have the weekends and I'll take the weekdays. I make sure to book myself a few weekdays every Oct just for this reason.

Thanks for responding. I'm going to stick with my Wed schedule. We are taking Grandma for her first trip and I really want to get a good veiwing for illuminations. Also, is F&W still fun if you don't like wine? I guess the food can still be enjoyed? I need to go and read about it.

Definitely stick to Wednesday.

And yes, you can enjoy the Food and Wine Festival if you don't like wine. The food is enough. There's also beer available at most booths. The portions are not that big so be as adventurous as you want. I'm sure allearsnet.com will have a complete listing of the food options after the first weekend. Have a great time.
