On the podcast Pete was speculating it was about money what if some of the groups just didn't want to continue in EPCOT. sure some of them like the world showcase players could have been about money but Off Kilter also performs outside of disney as well and they may just want to focus on those gigs instead of playing in Epcot all the time.

Possible, but I doubt it. It would be like the Kansas City Royals leaving MLB to focus on a career in the minor leagues.

not really the same thing. Well they may get a lot of money from Disney they may enjoy playing other places more. Also some of the time recently I've herd it isn't even any of the founding members paying in Epcot anyway. It's like with Billy Hill and the hillbillies at DLR there was one group that started the show who have now moved to Knotts berry farm and there were other groups who subbed in for them or filled in the schedule for them.

I thought the cast members in World Showcase were supposed to be from the country of the pavilion. Has the policy been changed or does it no apply to the entertainment?

The government wouldn't let the entertainment be on a visa for 17 years. The entertainment most of the time are american citizens that might be from that country. I don't think that off kilter was ever Canadian. They just played a lot of Canadian and celtic inspired music that at the time ( about 17 years ago..hmm) was very very popular here. ( Great Big Sea and Ashley MacIssac etc)

I was never a big fan of Off-but I understand why fans are upset. They are part of an experience at WS. I do enjoy the World Showcase players and do love the Fife and Drum Corp. I will miss the music as I pass by.

I think Pete has nailed it this is a money decision. I don't want to judge new groups but they don't translate well on paper.

I also remember when there was more music in the MK including a Steel drum band in Adventureland. Most of this is gone now.:sad2:
