Trying to decide where to have dinner at Epcot - family of 4 - two adults 2 kids (age 7 and 5). We had Akershus booked for the princesses but I'm hearing mixed reviews on the dinner food.

Anything other TS you can suggest (no signature dining please).

Anything else the kids might enjoy?

You didn't mention girls/boys. Akershus is a bit girl-focused, but our two boys LOVED being doted on by the princesses. If you kids have any interest in princesses and character meets, you can't beat Akershus.

As for the food, I know I loved it, a lot, but some aren't a fan of things like the cold bar (which I absolutely loved - salmon, meats cheeses, yum).

We will be there in May and have ADRs at Akershus for breakfast and Via Napoli for dinner. I can't speak to the quality of the restaurants as we have never been to either, but after extensive searching on this board, tripadvisor and other reviews, that's how I made our decision. We have DD10 and DS7.

San Angel and Rose & Crown were other options at WS we considered.

Are you trying to book a character dining experience during your time at Epcot?

What about Garden Grill? I love the food there, it's family friendly, and it is a character meal!

Thank you! I'll take a look at the menu!

Thanks! We have 2 boys but I still think they would love the princesses - at least the 7 year old. I think there is something that everyone is in awe of when they see a princess!

It doesn't have to be a character dining experience but I wanted something not too ordinary with good food!

For "not too ordinary," San Angel is quite an experience, eating in the faux marketplace, next to the river, watching the boats and the forced-perspective scenery. It's very cool. Cons, it's a bit tightly seated and the food can be hit or miss.

I'm going to go out on a limb though and say that if you have a reservation for Akershus and forgo it, you'll always wonder what you missed. Where else can you eat in a castle and have your little princes meet 4-5 princesses?

Fair enough and I think you're right! Maybe we will keep it :). Thank you for the input!

I've never dined at Akershus in part because of the reviews and it also seems like one of the pricier options for character meals.

Our all time favorite restaurant in Epcot (possibly in all of Disney) is Biergarten. So, if you wanted to consider something else this would be my top pick. Lots of options, food is always good, service has always been good, community seating is lots of fun and the band is super fun. My kids love getting up on the dance floor too.

Our favorite in Epcot is Garden Grill. We love it with or without kids. It is a must do each trip. We also enjoy Via Napoli and Teppan Edo.
