Here are the Epcot area restaurants we visited during our recent trip, along with a short review of each:

Garden Grill (lunch): A really nice meal. The catfish and the flank steak were both particularly excellent. The characters were out in force, and we had fun with them. Service was good.

Sunshine Seasons Food Fair (lunch): Plenty of choices. The sandwiches, the noodle/rice bowls, the salads, and the soups were all great. Didn't try the pork chops -- too much for lunch. This is probably our favorite counter service restaurant.

Cantina de San Angel (dinner): The combo platter was good, but nothing special. The seating, however, was pretty nice by the World Showcase Lagoon.

Kringla Bakery og Cafe (snack): Everyone on here was right; the school bread is delicious!

Rose and Crown (dinner): We enjoyed the fish 'n' chips again (with malt vinegar, the way God intended!), but what makes the meal for us every time is the potato and leek soup. Just wonderful! Service was also good.

Le Cellier (dinner): It was fine, but we felt it was overrated. While the bread sticks were pretty good, the cheese soup was very salty. Sadly, the steak was also very salty. Note to Disney chefs: good meat doesn't need to be salted or covered in any sauces! If you serve me a salty steak, I'll have to assume you're doing so because it's a supermarket-style piece of flavorless meat (I'll be generous and grant that you're unlikely to be trying to cover up the flavor of spoiled meat). I buy my beef from a butcher so that I can enjoy the flavor...I expect no less consideration from you!

Yachtsman's Steakhouse (dinner): This place made Le Cellier look good. The meat was filled with stringy gristle. It also had a strange smell and taste -- more like lighter fluid than anything else, really. It was all sent back and a complaint was lodged with management. It's unlikely we'll ever be back here. They call this a signature restaurant?! It doesn't even begin to compare with California Grill, Narcoossee's, etc.

I too thought my steak and the cream cheese potatoes were too salty last I tried them at Le Cellier. Maybe it's a regional thing?

But very sorry to hear of your experience at YSH. We've usually had good steak there. Did you receive replacements for the strange tasting entrees?

I did get a replacement, despite my protestations that I didn't want one (or a credit; I just wanted it brought to their attention), and the replacement was decent . . . nothing special, but at least not gross!

Have you been to YHS recently? Maybe I just had really bad luck.

The last time I had dinner at YSH was close to two years ago I think. But my husband and daughter had dinner there last May. She loved her dinner and my husband was pleased. He's a tough grader.

I really suspect you had bad luck.

Thanks for sharing, the garden grill is one of our favourites:goodvibes

Thanks for writing and posting your reviews.

I am glad we decided to skip Le Cellier this time.
