Epcot "date night" strategy/opinions

H and I will leave the kids with the grandparents for a night when we visit in August so we can do a date night at Epcot. We're going to do Tuesday night so we can take advantage of evening EMH.

I'm trying to decide if we should get a TS reservation for dinner or just snack our way around the WS. Thoughts?

Also, I can't seem to get clear info about what food/drink exactly is open during evening EMH. Any recent reports?

Would you prefer to sit down and be waited on for a nice meal or walk around eating? It really is personal preference. I would schedule a nice TS meal.

I personally prefer to just snack around, we rarely do a TS in Epcot. My favorites are fish and chips from Yorkshire with a drink from Rose and Crown, cheese and meat plate and wine at Tutto Gusto, snacks and margaritas/tequila at La Cava, desserts from the bakery in France or Karamell-Kuche in Germany, since it is August ice cream from France may be nice too. That said, I don't believe that a lot is open during evening EMH so you would need to eat before that. If you prefer a more leisurely sit down meal in the AC there are lots of great options as well, it just isn't our personal preference when in Epcot. Have fun!!!

Without kids, drinking/snacking around the world is *the best*. So much fun.

We are doing the same thing for our anniversary trip in August. At first I was thinking just lots of drinks and snacks but made a couple of TS just in case. I am guessing I will end up cancelling them.

I would recommend of TS reservation. When I'm looking to have a Date night in Epcot the first thing we both want is a place with Ambiance and a break from all the kids and people in the walkways around world showcase. Some of our favorites are Tokyo Dining and Spice road table

if you are looking to kinda do a little of both (having a sit down atmosphere but also moving around the world showcase) I recommend hitting all the lounges and wine cellars around world showcase. its a great way to have a drink and a appetizer and move on to another place. two places that are my favorite for date night: La Cava Del Tequila and Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar. La Cava Del Tequila can get pretty busy but I've always have been able to get a table.

My husband & I make it a point to go to Tutto & sit in the cozy sitting area & have drinks. The appetizers there are substantial enough to count as dinner!

So does WS pretty much shut down during EMH? Are shops open?

If you are going to EPCOT without kids:
Drinks at Tutto Gusto Wine cellar in Italy. Beautiful and romantic location.
Then your meal at Monsieur Paul in France. You will be treated extremely well, the food and service were impeccable in our experience.
Then stroll around world Showcase until Illuminations.
