Epcot...convince me!!!

Mexico-Churros. The CS restaurant is really good. You can eat outside by the water. It is very peaceful.

UK-Fish and Chips

Norway-School bread and other sweet treats.

I have never been to Le Cellier but I have read many reviews on the dining board that make my mouth water.

I hope that helps!:)

Ok for snacks... the must dos for us- A stop at the French Bakery- delicious and delightful to sit and listen to that music. Funnel cake at the American Adventure(for some reason it just tastes better there) Churros in Mexico. But for us it is the drinks that gets us really into World Showcase. Cheese soup and pretzel bread(shouldn't they just sell this at a CS cart in front of Le'Cellier!) Oh the fish and chips from that stand oooh lala....
Well that was all I could come up with. We LOVE Epcot. And LOVE the world showcase. Go with an open mind and you may have fun. There are choo choo's in Germany.

My family is going to WDW in mid-June!!! :cool1:

And we plan on doing all 4 parks...

My Question is about Epcot...

I've been there and like portions of "Future World"...but the "World Showcase" is pure unadulterated torture for me.

So what am I missing?

hint...remember a way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

How can I eat my way through this place I dub the "Seventh Circle of Hades"?

Well, food or a snack of some sort in every country and we like to ...ahem....drink our way around the World!:lmao:

I remember absolutely HATING it when I was younger...my parents dragged me through the WS and I complained the whole time. Now that I'm older, it has become my and DH's favorite park.
If you like strawberry shortcake, you have to go the bakery in The Land Pavilion. GOOD!!!!

I'll tell you what- I hate DS. I always have, because it is just one giant advertisement for Disney movies. I couldn't care less about the whole movie industry. I just want to watch the movies. I realize that the other parks are advertisements, too, but here they drop all pretensions of it being otherwise.

However, this year I am doing a bit more digging than in years past, getting the best ADR's, really reading other's reviews and in general trying to get something out of it. And it's working. I found out that there is a lot to like, but I have to set aside my idea of "fun". A person needs to take each park on its own terms. AK is also like that. MK is about the only one that's fun, fun, fun without even trying- but it's more fun (that's right- fun, fun, fun, fun) if you take the time to thoroughly look at each attraction. The best way to do this is read every guide you can find. I signed up for a couple of touring sites on the internet and found them extremely worthwhile.

For me the fun of EPCOT is being there-not the what am I doing. As has been said here it is not the run to get to the ride tyoe of place once you enter WS. As a matter of fact, we never really spend alot of time in the other part of EPCOT.

I would love to go to all of these countries, however it is VERY unlikely that I will go to Morrocco. The last time I was there I was w/ a friend who speaks a little Arabic-we spoke to some of the CM's there who were surprised this blue eyed blonde haired woman knew Arabic. It was great talking to CM;s from the different countries and finding out a little about their culture.

we eat alot and drink a bit at EPCOT. If I am w/ my kids I don't drink, but we do try food from other lands --it is a great way to experience this "buffet of the World".. I also love the entertainmanet-The Beatle guys are fun as is Off Kilter. There was a good band in Morrocco w/ a belly dancer. The Chinese acrobats are great as are the gus in France w/ the chairs and balancing act. Everytime we go I don't expect to see something specific--I just enjoy what is going on at the time we are there. i am never disappointed.

Rose and Crown is a fun atmosphere if you do want a drink or 2. The Fish and Chips are Yum!
Pretzels in Germany.
My son loves the mexican stand.

See now that's better...I think I'll go over to the Food Board for some more ideas.

THANKS Everyone!!

PS...anybody know what "emerymt" is talking about?

To each his own, I guess. Frankly, I like the atmosphere back there, uncluttered with a lot of rides and noise, it invites a more leisurely and personal exploration rather than being herded into yet another attraction line. I guess I'd need a bit more information to really comment on what it is about the place that would lead to such unmitigated antipathy from you. At worst, it's just a set-piece of country-themed stores/restaurants. If you took it out of Disney and put it in your hometown, would it really be so horrible to visit?

All that being said, you indicate you're a man with an appetite, so allow me to suggest a slight change of focus (pun intended) -- three words for you:

World Beer Tour.

Hop (and barley) your way through the World Showcase . Lots of fun. pirate:
