Epcot-Boring?

I love Epcot... I'm not exactly sure why either. But then again I love reading text books. LOL It's my inner geek! ;)

The only problem with Epcot is that it's too close to the MK! :rotfl:

We would enjoy Epcot if it were close to home, just as we enjoy going to the various museums around town. But on a Disney vacation, our family is looking for thrill rides and fantasy, so Epcot seems boring in relation to MK and the other parks/water parks. As someone else said, Innoventions just isn't very innovative anymore. DH or I or both have been to half the (real) countries in WS, so it doesn't do much for us, either.

If we lived nearby, we might go to Epcot more often, but in the limited time we have at WDW, on limited occasions, we'd rather spend more time at MK and BB!

Different strokes for different folks!

Another Epcot lover here. I used to not find so much to do there. Maybe it's an "acquired" taste. Now it's my favorite park. I LOVE it at night!!!

Since you ARE asking for opinions, LOL...

WE LOVE EPCOT! I am honestly not sure how in the world anyone could spend only a half day there. :confused3 We have spent 14-hr. days there before, opening and closing the park, and still not done everything we wanted to! :rotfl2:
All I can say is if you hate it, go elsewhere and leave it to those of us who are in love with Epcot!! ::yes::

I'm always amazed when people say that Epcot is boring. We have always loved it, even when my kids were little. They always seemed to find tons of stuff that interested them. BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID, isn't it wonderful that Disney has so much to offer? Not everyone is going to like everything, and that's how life is, so don't worry about what others think, do what you want!! With four parks there truly is something for everyone.

The first time we went we found it really boring too. But after reading about all there is to do that we missed the first time, we are going to give it another chance.

I didn't think this topic would generate such buzz! (ha ha or maybe I did ;) )

Anyways, I respect everyone's opinions and thank everyone who answered my post! I think myself and my BF (both in late 20's) will give the park a second chance...I dunno I just don't feel the 'magic' there as I do in other parks.

To each their own...

We have always 'done' Epcot on every single trip. Then, last month, I made a solo trip. I stayed at BWV. I spent a ton of time in WS, but didn't get over to Futureworld. Very unusual for me. It wasn't until my very last day that I actually got over there. And it wasn't until I had moved from BWV to Pop!!! But, I had to ride Spaceship Earth and do Journey into your Imagination!! Then, of course, I had to see the tree lighting, and the archway Lights of Winter!!!
I love WS the most, but still do some stuff in Futureworld. I can't believe I missed Soarin' this time around. But, I just didn't feel like riding it alone.

I guess my family is perhaps in the minority too. We did not like Epcot at all. We tried it twice, to us it just seemed boring. The countries didn't interest us, unless you wanted to spend the whole day eating (which would have been ok with my husband), and the other areas just werent our cup of tea. We will spend a couple of hours there though to do TT, and we want to try Soarin' for the first time this December!
That being said, it is nice, as it was mentioned that everyone has their own preferences and travel to the different parks for different reasons.

Have fun Epcot lovers or not!!

Lory

World Showcase and of course, the newer rides, are the best parts of Epcot. Unfortunately, Future World doesn't have much of anything depicting cutting edge and futuristic technology anymore. So I'd agree that FW is kind of a yawn. I guess that's why they've been beefing FW up with the new rides lately.

I Love Epcot (of course, I love all the parks!!). I enjoy the World Showcase EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO :flower:
I just think it is so cool.

Also, when I go on vacation, a top priority is the food, and IMO, Epcot does the best food in WDW (overall). ::yes::

I'm noticing alot of people have replied saying they truly enjoy WS (esp the food!) but alot of people are agreeing that FW could use a makeover...

I think I def agree, maybe thats the reason why I do not enjoy Epcot that much. Although I did enjoy shopping in the countries (esp Japan, I think I spent over an hour in the store there)...

You people are mean *goes into a corner and bawls* epcot is..my favorite park :(
lalalalalalalalalalalalala NOT LISTENING

Woo Hoo we just decided this weekend that its time for our return trip...We go about every 2 yrs and its been Jun 04 since last trip ..We are shooting for Sept this time around. Anyways....we always enjoy EPCOT...We have 3 kids (dd 12 -but according to her 2 months and 9 days til being a teen  , dd 6 and ds 4) they all enjoy EPCOT...they like the rides, the countries, the shows, the Kidspots, parades, they like it all!!! Now in our personal opinion, we can do without MGM, other than RNR coaster, its pretty much the same shows as the one and only time we went for a full day in 1999. We did go one other time only for RNR, Fantasmic and Playhouse Disney but that was it. We liked it once but not enough to go back anytime soon. But the other funny thing is that the first time we went to AK we hated it. Now we love that..I guess because especially my youngest 2 are animal junkies we have a new appreciation for it (although if we were to buy a one park ticket it wouldn't be for AK-it sgreat but not $55 per person great. :confused3) But like others have said, everyone has their own likes and dislikes and that why we are all unique.

Our last visit, we went to Epcot on three different days. The one day we devoted to Epcot, we went as soon as it opened, left after the EMH in the evening, and still came back again before we left, because we still hadn't seen and done everything that we wanted to do. There is something new and different everytime we go. I am looking forward to our trip in June, when we are staying at Beach Club villas. I think we just might be going to Epcot, at least for a while, nearly every day.
