Hi Everyone,

We are starting to plan our next trip and have some questions about the delux resorts in the EPCOT area.

What are the major differences in the resorts beside the theme? Which would you choose and why? Are you able to walk from the resorts to HS and EPCOT? Can you walk between all the resorts or is it too spread out to enjoy the walk?

Off the resort topic -- we would be looking to go during Thanksgiving either 2009 or 2010. How is the weather for swimming and the water parks, would it be warm enough to enjoy or would we be cold? Every time we go we have never been able to go to a water park and that is one of our top to do items?

THank you for you input.

I would choose BC! :cool1: We love the theming and loooove SAB! It is also a very quick walk to Epcot and the BW, and a quick boat ride to DS!

For my wife & me, there's nowhere better than the Beach Club resort. It's hands down our favorite. Art, the Greeter, is true living Disney Magic! It's about a 5 min walk to Epcot, & a few minutes more walk to Hollywood Studios. You can also catch the boat to either one from right in front of the Yacht Club (attached to the Beach Club). Additionally, you'll have the WONDERFUL Beaches & Cream there too!

You can walk easily over to Yacht Club (2-3 min walk) or to Boardwalk (5-7 min walk). It's a great location and a great hotel!

Enjoy the Magic, whatever you decide!

I would go with the Boardwalk because the few times my family and I have went there to visit, I always thought it had such a great atmosphere.

I would choose the Swan/Dolphin resorts.

The Swan/Dolphin often has great rates that cost about as much as a Disney Moderate.

They are real 4 star hotels.

Deluxe but not as expensive as Disney's deluxe resorts.

The heavenly beds are ...well heavenly.

The Grotto pool and hot tubs are fun and relaxing.

Plus Epcot and MGM are just a short boat ride or walk away!

From Epcot hop on the monorail and head on over to the MK!

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

My favorite Epcot resorts are either the Dolphin(love the beds and prices) or the BWV....I usually rent from a dvc owner and rent a 1 BR suite.

all epcot resorts are within walking distance to HS or Epcot. All have boats that will take you to either park as well.

I would go online and see which resort appeals to you most, then check pricing and see which ones wins.

My favorite resorts are in the epcot area

We like the Yacht Club because we love Stormalong Bay and think it's a really pretty resort.

You can walk to EP and DHS from any of the Epcot resorts, although we take the boat to DHS ususally because it's farther than Epcot.

Also, you can easily walk between all the Epcot hotels (YC, BC, BW, D, S) but also the boats that go to the parks stop at each of the resorts, so there's a "lazy" way to go between resorts if your feel get tired from all the walking.

It's a really pretty resort area -- and all the resorts seem nice!

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

I would definitely choose the BC. Second choice would be Swan. You would be able to walk to Epcot and DHS from any of the resorts, with BW being closer to DHS and BC being closest to Epcot. From our room, it only took about 2 minutes to get in Epcot. There are many things to do at BC and many places to grab a bite to eat. DD16 loves Hurricane Hannahs. DS17 loved that he could go right into Epcot and get him a quick bite and bring it back to the room to eat.

We love the Swan too, (and especially the heavenly beds!!) but it lacks the convenience of charging to your room and having the dining plan. We did notice that our room was a little wet feeling all the time. Not that the room itself was wet, but the air felt moist. Kind of strange, but with the heavenly bed....:confused3

Enjoy your stay!!!

For my wife & me, there's nowhere better than the Beach Club resort. It's hands down our favorite. Art, the Greeter, is true living Disney Magic!!

ahhhh, Art:lovestruc hehe! He's the best! We shall be visiting him in a few days! :goodvibes

BTW, we love the entire Epcot resort. Our very first stay on property was at the YC, and we have since stayed at the YC, BWV and BCV on nearly every trip. Since becoming DVC members, we tend to stay at the BCV. I do not think you can go wrong with the YC/BC/BW, but my preference is the Y&BC.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of all the Epcot resorts, we've only stayed at the BC and we loved it. We've only stayed there once, but after reading some threads on the BC, we are thinking of staying there next July instead of going to the Poly. We were at the BC in December 2003, so we weren't able to swim due to the cold weather :sad1:. So this next time we'll be able to enjoy SAB :yay:. Plus we LOVE Cape May, especially for breakfast, so that's convenient being right there at the resort :). It's also very convenient to be able to walk to Epcot and DHS. We seem to like the "beach" theme at the BC over the "nautical/boating" theme at the YC; and the BWI seems nice, but we prefer the BC over that one, as well.

Thank you all for your responses. All the resorts sound and look so good. At least I have a long time to make the choice. Maybe I will get the kids to look at all of them and see what they like most. (but they like CBR alot and always want to stay there.) I think we need a change.:thumbsup2

I work at the Boardwalk so I gotta stick with it:thumbsup2 I like the entertainment and grounds better than the rest of the Epcot resorts. We use ME so Swan/Dolphin would not be an option. YC+BC are okay but I think they aren't as aesthetically appealing.

Our favorite is Beach Club- we try and stay there whenever we can get a good discount. This year trying Beach Club Villas 1st time- in a studio.
Stormalong Bay (Pool) is awesome, and the quick walk to epcot is great! Plus we love the Boardwalk after epcot which is a quick walk away but enjoy staying at Beach Club because it is quieter and closer to epcot.
