We are going in September for 9 days. The first day we are relaxing at resort and one of the days we are doing MNSSHP. So that leaves us with 7 days in the park.
Here's my plan.
DHS 2
AK 1
Epcot 2
MK 1.5 (Leaving on half day)

We are at MK for the Halloween party but i'm thinking that will be more of walking around, meeting characters, and watching shows. Not much time for rides. So i'm thinking of only doing Epcot for one day. My kids are 6 and 9 so there really isn't for them to do there. They don't appreciate walking around seeing the different countries.
So would you add another day at MK and only do Epcot once?

I would add the 2nd day in MK and only do Epcot one day since your kids don't care for the countries. You could do a morning/afternoon in future world and the evening in the countries.
That would probably be enough for your kids unless you get them interested in getting their passport stamped or coloring Perry and getting the stamps in each country on the handle.

I personally would add more MK time and take it away from Epcot. Always so much to do at MK. Other than that, you're choices line up with what we would do.

Dan

We are going in September and planning 1 day at HS, 1 day at AK, 2.5 at Epcot, and 2 at MK. It is certainly a preference thing. But we REALLY enjoy Epcot and MK. DHS and AK are half day parks for us.

We have started doing Epcot in 2 days recently and have been splitting it up as one day in Future World and one day doing the countries. Since the countries don't open until 11 am, it gives you a bit more time relaxing at the resort in the morning, and you aren't trying to cram the whole park into one day. I would recommend doing MK and Epcot both in 2 days, if time permits it.

how are you going to fill 2 days at DHS? I like to go to Epcot on arrival day to get 1.5 days there... a good compromise to your quandary. Doing Agent P solves WS boredom for the kids.

I can always get EPCOT done in one full day, MK not so much lol. I would do the 1 day at EPCOT and then an extra at MK. The extra day can consist of attractions that you already rode/saw, or haven;t had a chance to see! Also, if you hadn't done the 3:00 parade until that point, it's a good day to catch up on something like that!

I'm too Epcot-biased to tell you to reduce it to one day, but that's coming from a couple who spent 3.75 of their 10 days this past trip in Epcot, hehe... but I agree that with kids who aren't interested in the edutainment of World Showcase, definitely substitute for MK.

I don't think I'd be able to spend 2 whole days in the Studios, especially now when so many of the things I used to enjoy (Backlot Tour, etc.) aren't there anymore.

If you aren't going to EPCOT when the Food and wine festival is going on, then 1 day is probably ok, but I'd also agree with those saying Studios isn't a 2 day park for us either.

I would add a day to MK and take it from DHS. There are so many things closed there that I think it can be done in 1 day.

We just came in October with our kids, 9 and 5 and I thought the same. I had even originally had us skipping Epcot, but we ended up spending two half days there and loved it. There are tons for those ages....Test Track, Soarin, Nemo, Turtle Talk, Figment, Spaceship Earth, etc. and a great fireworks show. There are also tons of other stuff we missed but could have spent another day (Innoventions, Ellen's Energy, Living with the Seas, Circle of Life, not to mention World Showcase.

However, you can proably do DHS in 1 day and add another day to MK.

I tend to agree. 2 days at DHS seems like a lot. I'm finding it more a half to full day park, at most. Plus, your kids are still young, so I'd be inclined to bump up MK a bit. For your time, if it were me, I'd do:

DHS 1
AK 1
Epcot 2
MK 2.5 (Leaving on half day)

I tend to agree with everyone else and say cut back dhs to 1 day instead of 2 days. We always manage to fit everything into 1 day there and I don't think we would want to spend 2 days there bc once u see all the shows u really don't want to see them again

I would also add the MK time. I love Epcot and usually do two days but that's because we spend so much time in the countries. If your kids aren't as into that, I would add MK time.

I would cut your EC days to 1 and redistribute that day across MK and/or MK and the other parks. If your kids aren't into EC than there is no need for 2 days there.

My kids are 2, 5 and 6 and we can easily spend 2 days at HS, but neither would be "full" days. That being said we can easily make an entire day of FW at Epcot. Maybe the compromise would be to spend a full day at each HS and Epcot and then split a day between them...that all assumes you are getting a park hopper.

Any way you go, I would definitely have at least 2 full days at MK, but you are correct the party will be filled with characters, parades and shows if that is what you are doing it for.

Have you tried the Perry adventures in Epcot? It's one of our daughter's absolute favorites. And Sum of All Thrills in Innoventions is really fun too and very repeatable.

We usually do Epcot in two days, but we split it up by using hoppers.

When we do Future World we start our day there at rope drop then after lunch (usually somewhere in the world showcase), we hop to Hollywood Studios or Magic Kingdom.

Our Animal Kingdom day is when we usually hit World Showcase once we leave AK. For us, even with doing Rafiki's Planet Watch, Nemo and FOTLK, we can knock out AK by like 2 or 3 pm. Then, we can hit World Showcase and let the little one meet all the characters and we see alot of the shows.

Once AK adds more nighttime events, our strategy will change some but for now that is how we do it.

I would also take the day from DHS and add to Epcot..or split between them (catch the boat to DHS from World Showcase). My daughters LOVE Epcot, and have from ages 3-9. They love getting a passport ($9 I think lol) and going to all the countries and getting the people to sign it. We love seeing the street performers in the different countries. We also super LOVE Soarin, Seas with Nemo and friends (my ADD child can sit for an hour staring at the sea turtles and sharks), Test Track is fun, sampling sodas from around the world in the Coke store is super cool. We spend 2 full days...and many evenings, in Epcot when we go lol
