Can you add on EP access to tickets or do you have to stay on property for EP?

EP can be purchased separately on its own. There are two types when buying on it's own. Unlimited Express Pass (where you can use it on the attractions as much as you want) or limited (once per attraction).

You can see them all (and purchase them) here:

Also to note, you can purchase them in the parks on the day you are there.
Thank you. Also my DH and i bought tickets about 10 years ago when they were on sale and i don't know if they include EP. They are park hopper. Would we just bring them to the counter there to find it?

I do not know if you're local, or coming from out of town, but if you're from out of town, I would suggest staying at an onsite hotel that includes EP for the cost, especially if there is more than you and your DH. As it comes with unlimited EP for each member who's staying, as one ticket by itself (if you purchase it separately) for unlimited EP is $89 for one park, or $99 for both parks.

As for your other question you may check, but I do not remember even ten years ago there was a park hopper kind of ticket that included EP as well. Even ten years ago, EP was something to be purchased with a separate ticket. Someone else can confirm, or not, but I do not remember there ever being a ticket that included the ability to go to both parks while also including unlimited EP.

No, it's not like Disney, if you stay at an EP included hotel, or you purchase tickets, you simply get a ticket of your choice (which you still need to get your unlimited EP ticket at the hotel). Then when you get to an attraction with EP they scan your EP ticket and you're able to go through the line. "Express Pass Unlimited" you can go to any ride you wish that has EP and go through the line as many times as you wish, with just "Express Pass", you are able to go to any attraction with EP and go through that line one time.

Looking at the EP page, there is now a ticket that does include two park ticket with EP Unlimited and it is $248. That doesn't confirm necessarily the answer of ten years ago, but thought I'd share that as well.
