We will be going on our first cruise that will have ports of call - St Thomas/St John and St Maarten. Other than passports, as Canadian citizens, do we require any other entry documents (ie. visa etc) for the cruise?

I would appreciate any help. Thanks. :)

For either of your listed Ports of Call, no Visa or other entry document is required for Canadian Citizens.

The U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas/St. John) are territories of the United States and have the same entry requirements as which apply to the U.S. mainland.

Likewise, neither Sint Maarten (Netherlands) nor Saint-Martin (France) require Visas for Canadians visiting on short holidays.

We did a similar itinerary and only used our Canadian passport. If I remember correctly, we also had a card from the cruise ship that we had to show to reboard the cruise ship in addition to our passports.

Those are beautiful islands and you will love it. I would love to go back to St Thomas and spend more time - the people are so wonderful and the scenery is incredible.

Have a fabulous cruise.

Thank you very much! And I really appreciate the links.:)

just stepped off the Magic today from that itinerary. All you need is your passport to get on the cruise ship and your Disney KTTW ( Cruise ID Card) to get off and on the ship. Take your drivers lic as well. Photo ID, but we didn't need that this trip, but did last year.

Getting onto the ship, you will need your passport. They will take your picture after you have checked in that goes into the ship's computer that is embedded (you cann't see it) into your cruise key card ( this is your cabin key, card you show if you buy anything onboard). You swipe the key card each time you leave and return to the ship. It tells the ship's computer you have left the ship and have returned. You don't need to carry your passport at the different ports encase it is lost. SOME ports require some kind of photo ID with your key card ie: driver's ID, OHIP card so always carry something with you. You need to show your key card to the ships's security guard, once on board swipe your card and go throug their x-ray machine. Some islands have their own secutiry guards at the end of the pier, where you have to show your key card and photo ID, ie Key West, Nassau.

Thanks everyone for your help! The info and details are very helpful in alleviating some first cruise anxiety! Thanks :thumbsup2
