I apologize if this answer is on here somewhere-I looked and looked...

I was going to play around with our schedule/tour plan for our day at Universal/IOA, and on the maps I am looking at, I do not see where you get from one park to the other. Not sure where to start/end our touring to cross over.
I know we can park to park using the new HP train once it opens, but I thought there was a walkway as well...:confused3

Thank you in advance!

It all depends when you are going, if it is later this summer you will be able to take the Hogwart's Express to go park to park. Otherwise you will have to leave the exit of each park and walk to the other's entrance (VERY quick walk). Keep in mind USF has two entrances. The main one and a aecond one of the side by Blue Man Group. I usually enter and exit from this area but FYI it doesn't open until 10AM.

It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the gate of one park to the other :thumbsup2

OK, so I wasn't losing it, you do have to exit and reenter, no secret walkway. ;)

(unless we take the new train, but I'm thinking that may be crazy busy-we go in Dec)

Thank you, you all are so great at helping!!! ::yes::

Early December is normally slow (may be more moderate this year), you may want to take the train after all if this is when you are going.

During certain events like when HHN was in both parks, there is a walkway between the parks backstage.

During the normal operating hours, no there is no park to park, except for exiting then reentering the other park. Now, at USF there is aother entrance near Blue Man Group, that takes you right out next to Despicable Me. Generally speaking, theres nobody coming or going that way.

Did this additional entrance open fairly recently? We've been to USO a few times over the past few years and never noticed this 2nd entrance.

Got it! So, basically I'll just need to stay tuned in as December gets closer to see how crowds are at the HP train. :thumbsup2

I've been playing around with touring plans on Touringplans, just to get an idea of our timing at the parks for ADRs for Disney, since I can start making those in a month.

Touring Universal/IOA in 1 day is challenging, but we are only hitting the main attractions, no water rides, no shows, and we will have Express passes.

Anyone know of a good touring plan for both parks in 1 day? ;)

I've only gone through this path when going from IOA to USF for HHN before it opened to the general public, basically it was a stay and scream area for those who were in IOA during the day.I've also gone between parks using this path the years HHN was at both parks.

Its been there for several years. Coming from IOA, on the Hard Rock Café side,if you turn left heading towards the Blue Man Group, just after HRC,where RRR comes out of the park behind the fence, then turn right and walk under RRR youll see a little cart, looks like a merchandise cart )actually a turnstyle) and an open gate. Coming from Nascar Café side, its quicker to go thru the main entrance. If your in the park, turn right at DM, as if you were going to BMG, and youll walk thru it.
Where the gate is now used to be the lot where the slime fountain was from Double Dare, before you went into the Nickeldeon soundstage where Double Dare was filmed, which was all part of USF.

To not confuse the PP,that is that secondary USF entrance by BMG and Hard Rock Cafe, easily accessible from these two locations and Citywalk,so if you were coming in from Citywalk you would turn to the right to go to USF.The pathway of that entrance can also take you to IOA if you go left, like I said that's only opened for HHN and possibly other events.Another event I forgot that takes you in that general backstage area is when you go from IOA to see the Grinchmas show during the holidays,it only gets you to the soundstage to see the show, but is the way you would get to USF for HHN if coming from IOA using the backstage entrance so you don't have to go outside the parks and can do the houses earlier than the guests outside the gates.

Thanks! I figured that particular entrance might only be open for events like HHN but I didn't know if that was correct. No wonder why I never noticed anyone using it. I haven't been to HHN.
