Entire qantas fleet immediately grounded

Qantaslink and Jetstar to continue flying.
Current flights enroute with continuing sectors to complete flight...

But ALL QANTAS AIRCRAFT beyond this grounded effective immediately
 
I just came to post the exact same thing!

I hope this doesn't impact too many people on here and those that it does can find new flights without much drama and of course stress

I'm supposed to fly out of Brisbane next Saturday. Looks like I can't do anything but wait and see. I can get a full refund....Friday Doesn't leave much hope of getting on another flight to LA. So thankful this was... is only a solo trip.
 
just got that update from Travel Mole.

Wow, I hope it doesn't affect anybody here :headache:. Hopefully the situation will be sorted out quickly and Qantas will be back in the air. :rolleyes:
 
Wow, how awful that the industrial situation has got this bad. I hope it is sorted soon, and that no one on here have their travel plans disrupted :sad2:.
 
My Mum is in South Africa at the moment and due to fly Qantas back in two weeks. :scared1::scared1: She's doing her prunes about it - there's about 30 elderly people travelling together and she's not exactly happy. Fingers crossed it's all sorted by the 10th.
 
Just tried to cancel our flights and rebook through virgin but they'll only offer us a voucher in return, not our money back. I guess we don't know if we're going anymore :(

They are quoted as going to lose an estimated $20 million a day :scared1::scared1::scared1: I think they will try to get it sorted out ASAP. So hopefully, they will be up and running again by the time you go (fingers crossed for you) :goodvibes

Fingers crossed they will have it sorted by then. It is costing them too much money.
 
We are due to fly out of Melbourne on Thursday morning. 13 13 13 is jammed dont bother trying to call Qantas. From what I understand you can only get a full refund if you have a flight between now and Monday the 31st. Cause we are on the 3rd we have to wait and see cause they have not actually cancelled our flight yet! even though the whole fleet is grounded. Bit Nervous tonight I tell you. But one thing is for sure WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WHATEVER HAPPENS. WE WILL MAKE TO POP BY FRIDAY.!!! Dont care how it happens but it will happen.
 
We are supposed to leave WA on Tuesday & fly to the US from Sydney on Wednesday. So we have 3 different Qantas flights that are all affected at the moment. Just sitting here waiting for the latest news to come out of the late night Fair Work meeting.
Please cross your fingers for us (& everyone else of course)
 
I am sure this will be sorted out super quickly everyone. Don't be too worried, as someone mentioned, QANTAS can't afford to do this for long.
 
I thought I was hearing things when I saw this on the news! How horrible for everyone affected.. I felt so bad for a little boy crying at the airport because his trip was cancelled. Fingers crossed everything is sorted soon and nobody on here is too badly affected.

Makes me nervous about booking with Qantas for next year now..
 
Just think how many people's loyalty they will lose - anyone affected by this will never choose to fly with them again unless they seriously undercut other airlines.
