Has anyone heard the coupon is not valid? It just gives you a % off? I was reading on another website that the coupon only gives you 20% off. I really hope this is not true as I have managed to collect 10 of the coupons. Has anyone recently used one???

I talked to Guest Services at Citywalk and it is indeed true that the coupons are only good for 20% off on the movie and meal deal. No free meals and movies with the coupon anymore. There is also a sign saying such at Guest Service in Citywalk and also the Dining cart in Citywalk. It seems they were never intended to be free and it was a mistake. They honored them for quite awhile but can no longer honor it as free.

That is unfortunate but understandable, I wonder how many groups were showing up with 6 or 8 or 10 of the coupons. That had to be costing those restaurants a small fortune to honor all those coupons.

Wasn't there a similar problem with a coupon last year? Seems to me that the people at Universal who design these coupons should check them more carefully, or honor them the way they are printed.

Thanks, for checking!

Just guessing here but maybe they figured a family would only buy one entertainment book and would only have one coupon. Maybe they didn't think that people would be bringing 8 or 9 coupons at a time. But this is only speculation on my part as I have no idea about the coupons. I've never seen them and never used them.

Wow! What happened here? I go away to take my math test and I come back to hear the bad news. Okay But talking about businnes if this is the case why are they (universal) punishing everybody including the people that bought the book?
Can they just honor the coupon to the people that shows a valid entertainment card? It is not right for them to PUNISH everyone for this, and will be bad publicity to them. I am so glad I have my 2 park meal tickets, But I am not looking at universal with a positive attitude towards this change! Sorry Universal You are really making some people upset.
The honest people that have a valid coupon and a valid ent card and that is also doing business on the side with other universal meal options like one and two park meals so they can stay on the same place onsite 100% are very, very upset.
I have one valid coupon with a valid ent card and Universal SHOULD at least honor that!

I am planning to eat all my 3 days meals at USF, IOA, and Citywalk ( well not anymore citywalk), but Universal is punishing/pushing me to eat outside their land (Citywalk), and once I do that I may like it!

Time for me to start to check out the Disney free dining forums!

O.K., I'm very frustrated!!!!!!!!! :sad2: I can't believe that Universal is taking this stand with the coupons. I just got off the phone with Connie Colley, the manager of City Walk and she confirmed that this is now (as of April 18)$15.95 (20% off) instead of what the coupon states. The coupon states that you are ENTITLED to the movie and meal, not a discounted movie and meal. She said that she has had many calls and that people are very unhappy about what is happening. I could understand if they took this stand when the book first came out and never opted to accept the coupons at all. Instead what they did was take the coupon at what it reads for 6-8 months, in essence telling all of us going to Universal that they will continue to accept it. They HAVE SET PRECIDENT!!!!!! She went on to say that Entertainment.com is standing behind this as well. I'm not sure about that, but if so then they will have far fewer books being sold next year.

When speaking with her she stated that all of my comments would be forwarded to the president of Universal and suggested that I go to UniversalOrlando.com to the comments page and let them know how I feel about this. I think we should all do this. Maybe if hey hear from enough of us it would change, well o.k. maybe. But we need to let them know that they are letting there customer service go to pot. Disney would never do this. Last year they cancelled our reservation for non payment, I just faxed proof from our bank and they reinstated it a week later. The problem is that our airfare had gone up $300. Not a problem for us, Disney ate it and we were given a discount on top of it for our trouble.

I agree with the other poster that if nothing else they should honor the people who have the card and the coupon. We are after all the ones this was intended for, not the people who buy it on ebay without the book!

By the way, if you want to call Connie her # is 407-363-8000. Just ask for Connie Colley @ Citywalk. Maybe if she hears from enough of us she can talk to the higher ups. Well o.k., maybe.

I tried calling Connie (from the UK!) but only got through to her voicemail.

There is a point of principle at stake here for those of us who have purchased the Entertainment Book in good faith as a result of hearing about this offer.

As of two minutes ago there is no mention on the Entertainment Book site that Universal are not honoring these coupons.

What is the legal position over there - please can someone explain to me?

A discontented Englander!

Just got off the phone with Entertainment.com and they are aware of what is going on but also say that it is NOT A MISPRINT. I spoke to two different people, one of which was a supervisor and both said the same thing. I was told that the contract they have with Universal was for exactly what is printed in the book. They stated that I should keep calling Universal for the next couple of weeks to see if they have changed the policy and started taking them again. Now it is in the sales managers hands, they can make Universal start taking them again per their contract.

As for the question from the person in the Uk, I have no idea what the legal ramifications are. I am a nursing student, although being a law student right now would have worked out better. The best thing I can say is that we should all keep at them until they fullfill what we as consumers were promised.

I also just called entertainment and made a merchant complaint. I think those of us that have at least one book (I own two and planned on purchasing many more when/if they went tp $5!) should call and complain. The rep did say that it is a contract with Universal so hopefully this will get them to reinstate it -- maybe at least have you show an entertainment card when you redeem them to prove you own the books

I just called universal citywalk and told them what I think about this change. Anybody here has the link to the universalorlando.com comments page or knows where it is located?
Thanks

UPDATE:Never mind I just found it!http://www.universalstudios.com/homepage/html/contact_us/contact_links.html

Which one the usf or the citywalk contact?
I am emailing/contacting BOTH hoping one is the president of Universal.

Hey, when I was writing my comments I remeber that:

First cineplex took out the $9.00 parking refund program. This year.
No more express machines buy Your own express pass. This Year
Now, no more meal and movie deal. This year.
This has been a bad year! What will be next?

You know if they want me to go to Disney just say so.

I am so nervous about my 2 park and one park meal deal tickets right now. They are making too many changes!
Ohh and imagine if they tell me that I am only entitled to one express ride with my hotel key this year. I will ask for a FULL refund.
Universal is a great park but they need to go to school again to learn about customer satisfaction!

Isn't there still free parking after 6:00? It says so on their website. :confused3

This must have just happened with them changing the policy. I tried to use mine back in January and they told me that the coupons weren't valid and just intended for advertisement. Then after hearing about people on here using them successfully, I tried to use mine around the first week of this month and they took them with no problem.
That is really sad that they are not honoring them. They are coupons and anyone that has seen one will agree with me.

When AMC bought the movie theater in January, the free parking was discontinued. Universal does not own the movie theater. AMC makes their own policy on what they will or won't do as far as parking reimbursement. AMC has chosen not to validate parking.

Do you think that AMC has something to do about the entertainment meal and movie new changes?
First they accept it and then they realized the money lost in movies was not what they were thinking when they bought Cineplex.
Who is going to pay 9.00 for parking, 8.00 for a movie and a total price of 17.oo dollars to see a movie? Citywalk is doing better than the theater because people do get hungry. Then at nightime when parking is free people comes in with the meal and movie deal. I sure don`t see when or where is AMC making a profit to pay for electricity.
Amc is having a hard time accepting the contract that was made between Entertainment, Cineplex, and Citywalk to honor ENT coupons?

They (Amc) hide under the " The coupon is a mistake."

Entertainmnet = yes they have a contract
Cineplex movie theater = yes they have a contract
Citywalk = Yes they have a contract
AMC = Brand new owners. Name not found on the contract . "We don`t know anything about these coupons." "We are not honoring them."

New company always means new rules and also new regulations. The only new name included in the list is obviously AMC.
I think that, AMC has finally taken full control over cineplex movie theater on April 18th, 2006.

I don't know about the movie meal coupons except from what I was told when I talked to Citywalk guest services. I am only answering the statement you made about the free parking. The free parking ended in January when AMC bought the movie theater.

I honestly don't know what has happened with the coupons or if it has anything to do with AMC but I sincerely hope that things are worked out.

So there is no free parking after 6 or did there used to be a parking reimbursement during the day?

How do you call Entertainment? I own 2 books for my hometown and bought an Orlando & a Tampa for an upcoming trip just so we would have 4 cards, 4 coupons (plus I will use a couple other coupons and leave the books with my DSis & family.) I'm not real happy that they can break their contract on this.
