Has anyone tried the meal and a movie pass at UCW? It's in the shiny page section in the middle of the new entertainment book - just wondering if it is what it says : an entree and dessert at arestaraunt and a ticket to see a movie at the cinema - sounds too good to be true - is it? I have access to at least four e - books, so I think I'll be able to take all four of us - won't probably even need a ticket to a movies for a 20 month old - we're going over pres day and would love tp get a free meal and see a movie free, too - does anyone know about this?

Universal is not accepting it, they are saying that it is just advertising, not a coupon.

I guess it was too good to be true - very misleading with that scan code on the back, don't you think?

It is very misleading, I am trying to figure out who to complain to about it.

If you find out who to complain to about, PM me, please. I was REALLY hoping to have a free meal from this and already had all my coupons lined up. :confused3

We just got back on Sat. (15th). Our flight home was at 6:20 pm so we went to Universal. I had the coupon from my sisters 05 entertainment book for a free meal and movie. I had to go to the customer service in the Citywalk to get my coupon redemed. I got a card for a free meal and a card for a free movie. I went to the Nascar restraunt, asked for it to go (got a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and drink) then to the movie. Origionally I had went to the restraunt frist and they sent me to the customer service. No problems for me from anyone.

Also while at the movie theater we saw a sign that said $8.00 off concession stand with paid parking stub. I asked inside and they said I needed the stub I received when I paid. We had left it in the car so no luck for us but if anyone is planning on going to the movies grab the stub incase its a standing offer. Also I saw free valet parking with a movie. I didn't read all the details but if you are going to the movies they will validate valet parking.

Could you please tell me what restaurants the coupon was good for?
We go to Universal all the time, but where is the Customer Servicer at City Walk?
Thank-you, we are going in a couple of weeks and this would be cool, we have the Entertainment Book.

I'm not sure all of them but I know Hard Rock, Nascar, and Margrettiaville for sure. The customer service is on the left (as you walk into citywalk from the parking gargage) by the bathrooms. It's just a walk up window and says customer service. It's also the place where you can actually purchase the movie and meal deal for $19.95. It's advertised everywhere in city walk, the movie and meal deal.

Note I got my coupon from the 2005 book. It didn't say there was a limit to how many you can use and no additional purchase. All I got was my free food to go. I think it was a choice of cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, salad, turkey wrap, grilled chicken salad, and maybe something else. I went to Nascar because it was on the way out from Universal to the movies.

Thank you, I have 1 in my 2005 book, have to check the date it expires, and there is also 1 in my 2006 book. Would be neat if I could use both we are leaving on the 1st of December so I think we will not be able to use the the 2005 coupon well 1 free meal is better then none.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the one in the 2006 book is just an advertisement and cannot be used. Has this changed? The one in the 2005 book must be a valid coupon? I've not seen the one in the 2005 book.

No, if you look at the post it says 2005 book and that is what they used for a coupon for a free meal and movie ticket by exchanging at the customer service window.

This is good information to know...thanks for posting!

My free Movie & Meal coupon came in my 2006 Entertainment Book. There is no Movie & Meal coupon in my 2005 Book.

staceyfe my sister lives in st. louis and buys the st louis area entertainment books. im not sure if different areas have different coupons but the free coupon was in her 05 book. i looked at her 06 book and saw an advertisement but like cdpa4d said its only an advertisement. you can buy the deal at universal, a movie and meal for $19.95. but again, maybe your area had different coupons.

Must be different, my books are the Springfield-Branson area. That may explain why some people were told it was an advertisement and some were able to use it as a coupon: they're 2 different items.

I have one in my 2006 and it states "The meal and movie pass entitles one guest to dinner at selection Univ Citwalk Res. The guest may choose 1 entree and 1 beverage from a select menu. ALso entitles guest to 1 movie and lists the restaurants. On the back it has a bar code and states it is not good with any other discounts. special events - so I have no idea how they could say this is not a coupon when it is right next to the other Univ coupons.

Mine looks an awful lot like a coupon. It seems worth it to at least try if we're there anyway. Mine is 2006 Dayton/ Springfield, OH - I'm not going until Feb, so keep posting your results! I think I will still take the coupons out of my relatives books to try for the whole family - anyone think they'd let me use three or four of them? It lists the beverage, entree, dessert and movie ticket on the back and has a bar code. Hope it works!

I got an e-mail from a reader of my site today, saying that she was able to redeem her coupon from the 2006 book at the Guest Services booth in CityWalk. She was told they intended it to be an ad, but since it clearly looks like a coupon (complete with barcode), they are honoring it.

I am so glad to hear that - I am going to take three or four coupons - think there's any chance I will be able to redeem all three?
