We will be camping for spring break - our first outing as a family without built in entertainment...

tell me what your favorite things to do are. I'm planning on the pool, beach & Uno...but that's about it.

I'm dreading a rainy day(s) !

We have several board games that stay in the camper, so they only play them when we camp. Coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, word games
I guess it depends on how old your kids are too.
DS8 is just getting into reading chapter books, so I've got some stored away for him as well.

Swim, fish, bike, hike

Does the campground have a park? Organized activities?

If it's cold or rainy we always have board games in the camper, cards, coloring books and crayons. We only let the kids watch a movie if the weather is really bad out or right before they go to bed.

I always go to craft store or dollar store and buy craft kits. I save these for a rainy day or a day they seem to be bored, keeps them busy for hours depending how difficult the crafts are. My kids love playing cheraids (sp?) around the campfire! We also have butterfly nets and bug collecting containers which you can pick up at the dollar store. Also I have done a scavanger hunt for the kids with different items you would find in that particular park, and give them a digital camera to take a picture of them items they couldn't bring back for proof!

I used to camp all the time and I worked as a rec person at a campground!

if school aged and younger 5th grade... suggestions are
board games,
crafts ( pre-packaged are good)
bring glue, paint, sharpies, playdough or silly putty or even better plaster of paris.

look for and paint rocks, find nature items and make collages or stepping stones. use putty or plaster to make prints of animals . tye-dye t-shirts, then sign them
camp book/ journal having the kids write a little something everyday.
photo scavenger hunt,
bike rides. decorate site using cute easter decorations from dollar store.

outside games like bocce ball, mini golf, etc.
pick up sun catchers kits they are always fun to do!!

cooking over fire is great too have kids help prep and collect supplies!

have fun!!

Depending on the age of the kids... we play a game where we hide coins, pennies, dimes, and nickels around our campsite. When they find all the coins they get a treat, ice cream, candy, whatever.

The fun part is that if I tell them I put out 10 coins, I really only hide 9. The game goes as long as we want until we put the last coin out. It usually takes an hour or so until they find all the coins, then I gave to discreetly hide the last one.

We have different board games and a pack of cards. So far the only campgrounds we go to have fishing since my boys are older. The games only come out at night. I also bring some books that they might want to read.

mine are a huge age difference. 15 10 &6

We love board games & that should be fine...

We don't have a bike rack yet, so biking is out this trip.

I like the scavenger hunt idea - but I'm no good @ coming up with ideas on my own...I'll have to see if I can find one online.

Hiding $----:lmao:

We love charades too!

Thanks for the ideas

We also had board games that stayed in the camper. Look up the game Mancala, you can either buy a board, or its really easy to make your own with egg cartons and pennies. My sister and I are 7 years apart and this was something we both enjoyed playing. We also had a handful of logic puzzles.

Love Mancala - good idea...I'll get it out of the closet! BTW did you know there is an app? I played it for a long time on my old phone - it was great...haven't downloaded it since changing phones.

Believe it or not in this day and age I don't have a smartphone. Just a basic cell phone, but I would be addicted if I had that game on me at all times.
