When you walk over or take the boat from S&D to Epcot I understand you enter near France. Can you enter there when it opens in the morning and also do they have stroller rental right there or nearby?

Yes to both questions.

The International Gateway entrance opens at the same time as the main entrance (even though World Showcase does not open until 11 a.m. After you enter, you just walk up the slight hill and then take a left to walk past Great Britain and Canada to get to Future World. (If you take a right, you would cross the bridge to France. This area is roped off until World Showcase opens. There are CMs stationed along the walkway to "assist" you if you happen to wander outside of the "morning boundaries", LOL. It's actually a very pleasant walk early in the morning. We often stop to take a picture or two along the way.

The stroller rental shop is just to your left after you pass through the turnstiles.

VERY pleasant thing to do. Also restrooms right by gate, ticket assistance, etc. No one rushes you thru the WS. (Although they are posted along the route quite regularly as mentioned).
