Seriously, it's getting old! The stores wont stop making them. Now, a strategically placed hole can look alright.

But some of them are so full of holes and covered in paint and stains, they look like something a homeless person might wear. :confused3

Where do you live? Those jeans arent popular at all here, anymore.

DARK jeans - *natural* denim untreated is super in, here.

AND the plus - most are cut as skinny jeans - yay!
:cheer2:

Well I am in Nebraska....so we are probably behind! All the stores around here have them still.

At least trucker hats are gone....hated those!

my jeans end up that way anyway. If I bought them like that, they'd fall apart! lol. They are still in style here. I always end up with holes and paint and everything all over my jeans. I've got one pair that I wear when I'm painting...I think they used to be blue. :scratchin ;)

Find yourself some dark ones online and be a step ahead... then you take credit for the trend, and no one will be the wiser. :thumbsup2

Cuz theyre coming.... :goodvibes

Thanks for the warning. I've been needing to get some jeans!

I see you're from Chicago. I'm a former Chiagoan! While I like Nebraska, I'd love to move back to "the city" and would do so in a heartbeat if I had the opportunity!

I love Chicago - I love Chicago - I love Chicago!

I have maybe one pair but they dont have holes, just one of the 'fake' scratches, But that is because they fit good so I bought them..The other holes are real lol.. :woohoo:

Up here in Canada, the 'I just paid way too much money for jeans that look like they should be thrown out' is unfortunately very popular.

I'm a residence assistant (I believe they're mostly called Dons in the US?), so I see many first years still in the highschool 'I've got to look cool' mindset (while I quite comfortably walk around in pants in winter instead of miniskirts, what am I thinking :confused3 :rotfl2: ). The ripped/stained jeans are definitely at the top of the list, as well as miniskirts (might as well just call them tube tops and be done with it), anything low cut and or extremely tight.

Well, I'll get off my soapbox now  Hope I don't offend anyone, those are just my two cents

In or not I really hate dark colored jeans, ick! :crazy2: The last pair I owned were Jordaches and I was a little girl. ;)

I love these types of jeans and they're 100% in style in PA too. I got my daughter a pair for Christmas that are REALLY bad in the knee area from Aero. Her dad about freaked, as did her mamaw. Everyone else loved them as much as I did, including my daughter and my son. Her dad said, those jeans will not last! Well, my daughter has prolly close to 30 pair of pants/jeans, I think they'll hold up for the few times she'll wear them.

What I find to be silly though is, I bought a sweatshirt for my son (zip up) from Aero and it had tiny holes in it too. He LOVES it, but he has a really nice forest green (dark green) sweatshirt from Old Navy that he put a hole in and he refuses to wear it. :confused3 LOL I love the hole in that too, but it wasn't bought that way, so he does not.

Me too. My favorite pair of jeans are my Old Navy Boycut ones that have a destroyed look to them, they're so comfortable. :thumbsup2

My daughter has a denim skirt that she's been wearing since the 8th grade (she's 21 yrs now, lol). It is FULL of holes, scrached up areas, honestly the thing looks like it could fall apart while she's wearing it.

She has to wear straight thin black skirt under it because there are so many holes in it. I hate it and she loves it. And it never fails that someone will compliment her on it every time she puts it on.

Those beat up jeans are everywhere in the stores in the Dallas area and they're so expensive! It's funny because they cost more than jeans in new shape.

you may be buying our old jeans from california :rotfl2: there are vendors that pop up with regularity around here that pay pretty well for old jeans-and they want them worn in certain places and to have holes in them. i always wondered what they did with these :confused3

i remeber when "acid wash" was popular-parents everywhere would scream out "i just spent x on those and you did what to them?".

my favs in high school were "souvineers"-and dark blue was the fad in the late 70's.

The beat up look still has hold here in the NY/NJ area. I am not wild about it, but we are surviving. The embellished jeans are huge now too, which I really like. My daughters have some really pretty jeans with stones and buttons and all kinds of work on them. I also love dark jeans, hope that comes this way!

The cut-up, faded, beat up jeans are in the stores here, too. What's worse is that they're in Lane Bryant. Why in heaven's name would a plus-sized woman want to purchase a pair of jeans that looked as if she's busted out of them? Who wants to deal with the inevitable jokes? Not me. I left them in the store and purchased three pair of regular jeans for less than they wanted for the ripped ones!

I'm not really fond ofthe beat up ones either. But I do like some of the embellished ones.
I have some dark ones (saw somewhere that they are supposed to make you look slimmer!) and I love them.
I also remember using bleach on my jeans when I was a teen trying to get that acid wash look when Mom wouldn't go for it! LOL

Like another poster said they aren't really to in anymore here in Chicago. You see people wearing them sometimes, but in stores they have boot cut dark jeans almost with a blackish tint to it. I love them they make you look thinner. I alway thaught Chicago was behind on fasion compared to New York. but maybe not or maybe we are the only ones that are out of fasion!
