Enough to do?

Well, after all my trips to Disney, this year, we're staying away and spending an entire week at Univseral. As it gets closer though, I'm starting to worry that there won't be enough to keep me entertained. I'm so used to the hustle and bustle of WDW and packing every minute of every day with something (which my husband isn't too thrilled with!). This time, we do want to relax more, which we never do at Disney. However, in looking over the rides and the smaller size of the parks, etc., I'm now worried that we'll find ourselves with too much relaxing time (if that's possible). I like to be busy to some degree. We weren't planning on renting a car and were thinking of just staying put in Universal all week. Any suggestions on what to do while we're there to fill in some time. I already bought my park tickets and got the buy 2/get 3 free deal, so I'll have 5 days to explore the parks, which I'm sure is more than I'll need. I'm starting to wonder if we should rent a car and venture to other parts of the area, but not sure. HELP! :confused3

For the last 3 trips, I have stayed at universal for a full week (8 nights). Usually I spend 1 day somewhere else, a park, water park or disney quest. 5 days in the park is not too much in my opinion. It gives you an opportunity to see all the details, eat at nice restaraunts, and not worry about rushing around. Another positive is the kids have time to make friends. My son has a buddy in England now that he hung out with a couple of years ago. You wont regret it..its hard to break the chain, go cold turkey, but once youve tried it they wont be able to drag you away. :hippie:

You can also do a day at Seaworld and Wild Water Kingdom. Transportation is provided from the hotels. We've stayed for 5 and 6 days with no boredom whatsoever.

Are you staying on/off site? It makes a big difference.

We are staying on site at universal for a week too. And I have no doubt that we will be able to occupy ourselves for the entire time. For one one thing for one day we have rented a cabana at the pool to totally veg out. Another day we have selected to go to Sea World because all on site hotels have free shuttle. The rest of the time we will go ride the rides in the morning, then choose one of the on site pools to go to for a couple of hours, then return to the park later in the day. With the front of the line access it is not neccessary to go full tilt every day at the parks. This is what makes for a relaxing week.

I believe there is also a free shuttle to Wet n' Wild as well should that be a choice.

Yes, we are staying onsite, which is why we're not renting a car. I was planning on renting a cabana. How far in advance did you rent yours? I want to make sure I get one for the day.

I'm glad to hear that others are staying a week too. I always hear people combining a Universal stay with a Disney stay, so I was a bit worried. But I think it will be a nice vacation! Thanks everyone. :thumbsup2

I called and requested mine in February. Just call and ask to reserve a cabana. With being their for seven days I would suggest mid week.

Kimberly, thanks for the cabana info. What is the cancellation policy on those, do you know? What if it rains all day or something like that.
