We went to DC on the Friday after Thanksgiving. It was a little chilly (I think the temperature finally reached about 68 or so), but we still had a good time. I also think I got the wrong size wetsuit. That thing was killing me! It was definitely worth the money for me and my husband, but not for my 3 year old. He would have been just as happy sitting in a mud puddle and splashing all day. We will definitely go again when he is older and can do more than splash around and eat the wet sand (which I had to dig out of his mouth twice - he seemed to enjoy it).

We also enjoyed Seaworld the day after.

68 or so thats the tropics for us pirate: I loved DC great experience can't wait for next visit on january

I just made our reservations for 2005- Friday after Thanksgiving! We will be visiting my sister in Orlando for the holiday, the DC in the morning. Did you wear the wetsuits all day, or change into dry clothes for the aviary? I am hoping for at least 70 degrees :flower1: , but my boys swim in the Atlantic (in MA) in March, so I think they'll suffer through it :earboy2: . Thanks for any advice- jeankeri.

U do get to waer the wetsuits all day although must admit I took mine off as it keeps u way warm

We kept our wet suits on all day. It was around 68 so it felt a little chilly when we got out of the 78 degree water where the fish are and 85 degree water in the pool. We got the short sleeve/shorts wet suits though and not the long ones. I did unzip mine down to my waste while I ate lunch. The thing choked me when I would sit down. I don't think you can get to the aviary without getting in the water (somebody correct me if I am wrong). We had to put my 3 year old through the waterfalls to get there and he was not happy. If there was another way I just won't tell him! LOL.

When we were there in June, there were entrances to the aviary that didn't require going through the water. They were very plain screened doors--one was near the stingray area.

Oops! Oh well. What my toddler doesn't know won't hurt him. Thanks for the info NCRedding!
