Engrossing Movie Recommendation, Please!

In June, I will be flying for the first time since 1986!!!! And I'm super nervous. I know it's safer, but I have some panic issues. I will be asking my doctor for Xanex or Valium or something , but I also want something to help distract my brain....Can anybody suggest a really great movie that will draw me in and give me something else to focus on? I will be taking my iPad, so it needs to be something I can buy ahead of time off iTunes (I guess!)

If you like documentaries "First Position" was amazing. It is a dance movie, but very engaging.

If tv epsiodes are an option Doctor Who, Sherlock, Elementary, The Hour and Vampire Diaries are some current favorites.

Plus the new James Bond (Skyfall) is a lot of fun.

Have you seen "The Godfather"? There are 3 parts to that series and it really sucks you in.

The "Borne Series" with Matt Damon will suck you in as well. There are 3 parts to that as well. That would be my first choice for you. Great, great series that is very engrossing.

what about a series that you haven't watched before?

I got completely sucked into Downton Abbey. I didn't think it would be my kind of show, but I watched all three seasons in about a week.

Even though I knew how it turned out, I was on the edge of my seat, gripping DH's hand 'til it was bruised, watching Argo. I know Ben Affleck took some poetic license with it, but it essentially took place the way it was portrayed. Very engrossing!

If I was so nervous that I had to take a.sedative, I don't think I would watch anything anxiety producing. Stay with movies that are upbeat and nothing with visual sexual content. No telling if you'll be seated.by a nun or a child.

You might consider investing in or seeing if you can borrow some noise cancelling headphones. They help with keeping the overall experience less dramatic. Flying doesnt bother me, but the engine and airflow noise does make it a little tiring and sound cancelling help immensely.
