So, what book are you reading in English class right now? Do you like it?

This year I have an ....interesting teacher, so we're reading "The Eyre Affair." It's okay, but its REALLY weird.

I can read whatever the heck I want to read for my reading log, as long as I have 2090+ pages by the end of the quarter and 10+ different genres by the end of the year. I am currently reading a Disney guidebook under the 'self help' genre. It mentions DIS in it!

For my english class, we're just finishing the Outsiders. Awesome book! I love it. I finished it before the rest of the class. I couldn't wait to see what happens!

omg that is such a good book!!! also a good movie. I read it in eighth grade.
Um so far we have read The odessey, Frankenstein, and sophocles(SP?) or Oedopus Rex w/e you wanna call it. And then we were reading just random books and I read Girl with a Pearl Earring. (very good book!!)

The Outsiders is pretty good, we read it last year. Now we are reading, "Night". It's a good book too, but we kind of just started so I can't judge it much.

we don't have an assigned book to read. my dad wanted my older brother to read a book called Don Keote (sp) and he said it was way to long so now my dad is making him watch the musical instead of reading the book

Night was a really good book. Its really sad thought, and its worse cuz its all true.

Looooved the Outsiders! I became overly obsessed with the movie, and all those guys... :)
We're reading Shakespeare's As You Like It. Good book, but kind of hard to follow.

This year we read: 'Of Mice and Men' and 'An Inspector Calls'! I dunno if anyone has heard of them :confused3

Now I have to study these books ready for my GCSE's :scared:

We have read one book so far. (My class is slow). That book was "To Kill A Mockingbird".

So far we've read The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle and we just finished Dragonwings.

We read that last year in 8th Grade. I guess we weren't supposed to because we have to read it next year again.

I read that in eighth grade and I HATED it!!!! Everyone else I have talked to about it, loved it. But for some reason I hated it. :confused3

I'm reading A Conn. Yankee In King Arther's Court. Mark Twain. Good book, but hes got a lot of little stories running together in it, and it seems like he had a hard time keeping them all flowing nicely.

umm. my 'lit' group just read Underground To Canada. it was pretty bad. i hate litterature groups, it's annoying. & i hate the books we choose from in the seventh grade.
in fifth grade i read The Outsiders by SE Hinton because my brother was reading it for ninth grade english. i failed to read To Kill A Mockingbird & Lord Of The Flies because they looked deathly boring.

thats exactly what happened with us!

Just finished reading Macbeth. I actually have a quote quiz on acts four and five tomorrow.
and then next week we're starting Hamlet.

I liked it, and probably will like Hamlet as I really like Shakespeare....
