Engagement Shoots questions

When did/are/would you schedule your engagement shoot?

If we use DPS and buy the dvd of your wedding pictures are the engagement ones included too, or does a dvd come with the package?

We have a couple different ideas:
A)Do a resort shoot with Roots when we go down 1 year before, do a DPS in Epcot during our planning session trip.

B)Do a resort shoot with Roots when we go down for the planning session

C)do both Roots and DPS when going down for our planning session

I would go with option A- that way you can send out engagement announcements with a photo..

That's a good question. When you buy just the engagement shoot with DPS, you don't get the images on disc. I think it's worth asking whether you could get them on your wedding disc, but then, as DisneyFairy pointed out, you wouldn't get them in time to send out with your engagement announcement/save the date/Christmas card, etc.

We sent out our Save the Dates already, with the photo taken a couple hours after our engagement. I think I'd mainly be using the photos for scrapbooking and photo albums

Wow. I stumped you, I didn't think that was possible. I'm going to shoot my consultant an email and ask her. If I'd have to pay an extra grand for the dvd, then that's out for sure. I'm going to sit down and discuss it with everyone and figure it out. I like the idea of both, but would love to have something for Christmas Cards, didn't think about that.

I sent my consultant and email about the dvd and engagment photos and this is the response. I though I'd post it for those wondering in the future:

If you use Disney Photography and purchase the High Res DVD of the wedding images, then your engagement pictures will be included on the DVD at no additional cost.

They do sell a High Res DVD of the Engagement Session images A la Carte for $300. The only reason you would purchase this is if you did a stand alone Engagement Session & did not use Disney for your wedding photography.

The Wishbook (which I know is most likely out of date) says that they are $310. Maybe someone has an updated price?

It's still $310. So I guess you're looking at $610 with the disc.
