Engagement Pic Session

My df and I still haven't taken any engagement pics, we're not really traditional or anything but I would just like a few good pictures of us to put in a scrapbook. I was thinking about taking a little side trip to the beach and having a photographer meet us there, but anywhere I've looked in that area is sooo expensive. Anybody know someone who's just a good photographer that would be willing to meet us for 30 minutes-1 hour?

I also started to think maybe we could take some really nice artistic shots at DL with one of the photopass photographers. I don't know much of the area around DL (yeah, as many times as I've been there!) but maybe there is a nice little area we could take a few pics so it's not completely full of Disney. It would be nice to have different scenery than anyone else around here. A cactus... a road... some dirt...

Any ideas!!??

I would do this. Find a PP Photographer and ask if they could go a few places with you. Tell them it's engament photos and you don't want the shots to obviously be in Disneyland and have a few backgrounds.

If you find a PP Photographer who isn't busy, this could easily work.

Congratulations on your engagement! My friend and her hubby are photographers in the area - they take beautiful photos, their prices are reasonable, and they are super sweet!

They do a lot of sessions at the beach, and have done some around DL, too.

Also wanted to add that if you go on a day that's not very busy, New Orleans Square could make for a great backdrop to your photos!

Thank you! I will look them up for sure. I can also wait to take engagement pics and we can go back another time when we can add a third day to our trip, I'm not sending them out or anything so just as long as I have them by October then I should be good!

About what a PP said though about using photopass- that is where my fiance and I celebrated our engagement as a family (I have 2 children). We got greats shots together and while we were out as a couple. We told the PP guys that we were engaged and they took extra care to make sure we got great shots. And we got everything on a CD for about $50

I thought that you weren't allowed to bring professional (non-Disney) photographers into the parks for shoots? Is this incorrect?

DL & DCA haven't put a block on it, you just can't be in wedding attire if you wanted to do any kind of wedding shoot in the parks. The WDW parks on the other hand did put the kibosh on any non-Disney professional photographers about 2 years ago.

I love those pics! That would be so neat. I think I may see if the PP photographers can do pics like that. Thanks for the help&ideas!
