i've tried searching to find it on my own, but unfortunately i can't. my fiancee and i are going to Disney World in December and I'd like to have a professional take some pictures of us for our engagement picture and picture to put up for our reception for guests to sign. I want nice pictures but also don't want to spend a fortune on these!! Anyone have any recommendations of someone who can take these pictures somewhere in the park or the Disney resorts?? Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA!!! :goodvibes

First, let me make sure I understand you correctly. You are already engauged. So you won't be getting engauged at Disney. If you are the easiest thing is to get your place in mind, what you want to wear and all that, then just snag a disney photographer. They are pretty good, besides they'll use your camera if you ask. You'd be surprised if you scope out random peolple carrying good equipment what a good pic you can get. Our Christmas card pic was taken by a stranger. I got the camera right with a few test pics then just snagged somebody carrying a SLR (canon of course). Now our anouncement pic (both the newspaper and wedding invite) was taken by boBQuincy you see on here. An excellent job I might add.

Now, if you plan on getting engaged down there, thats a different story. Call disney up and one of there guest service lines and they can help arrange everything. That's what I did and we had one of the photographers there. Excellent pics of the entire thing. Since the waiter and manager were in on it too I was also able to slide the waiter my camera set to video and he recorded it. We also put that little clip in a video that played during our reception at the wedding.

It was a little bit of money paying for the pics disney took, but I wouldn't change a thing. It was well worth it, the expressions are great and the prints themselves seem bullet proof.

I believe that only a Disney photographer can take photos in a park, but since photos at a resort are also an option for you, I'll recommend Randy Chapman.

My husband and I recently renewed our wedding vows at Disney and used Randy's services. He is very personable and takes amazing pictures!!

Randy gets rave reviews on the Dis Honeymoon and Wedding Board, which is where I first heard of him. If you searched in that forum using his name, you'll find a number of threads.

Randy's website is www.chapmanphotography.com. In fact, I just checked his website and there's an engagement photo seession under "my photos."

Good luck!

Regards,
Jen

we are already engaged, we got engaged 2 days before Christmas and our wedding is May, 2008. So i don't need any kind of wedding package, i just need someone who can take some nice, professional-type pictures of us to put up for our reception with a border for guests to sign. I'm going to try emailing Randy Chapman to see if they have a package for just an engagement picture only session. We don't wanna spend a fortune for what will really just turn out to be one picture we're using!!! We went this past September and had some people in the parks and even used the Photopass photographers to take some pictures but they didn't turn out so good, not good enough to hang for all of our friends/family to see!!

Agreed, I was pretty disappointed in the pictures taken by the Photopass photographers during our last trip to WDW. They've always been much better in the past.

From what it seems like TO ME, the photopass photographers seem to be rushing too fast to get the pictures taken and over with. Some of the photos we received were even crooked and cut off parts of our heads!! :lmao: I can understand them hurrying to take photos if there are others waiting in line for their pictures, however, when we went there was no one else waiting and still, the pictures didn't turn out so well. So for our engagement photos, i thought paying someone to take NICE pictures would be the better option so we won't be so disappointed!

Check out the weddings and honeymoons board here on the dis! We're helpful-I can't help with this particular question, but there are plenty who can!
