Engagement Photo

Please help!!! I want to get engagement photos done but I don't if that is proper when I am having an initmate wedding. Can you please let me know if this ok and if so when should we get these pictures if our wedding is 5/5/05.

I say get your engagement photos, you can use them for a couple of different things, I would kind of look at them like family photos. You can use them to announce your engagement in the local paper and give to your family members. If you think about it, most people don't even know where they are going to get married when they get engaged, so I really wouldn't think that you having an Intimate ceremony have any bearings on whether or not you get pictures done

I'm with Doctor Tigger. Get them done. We had a blast taking ours. The only thing we are using them for is we are doing a signature matte as our guest book, and we are putting our engagement pictures in that, and then will probably replace the engagement photos with wedding photos when we get them. As for when to get them, I would get them as soon as you can find the time. We are getting married in June, but didnt have ours taken until the end of January. My mom was ready to beat us senseless as she wanted a picture to use for the announcement in the paper.

Hi sue!!! I think anything you want to do is up to you. It does not mattter if you have been married 10 times or if you are married by the justice of the peace. Take as many pictures as you can because pictures are memories frozen in time. I still have pics froom my first wedding and I am never throwing them away. I love pictures, especially wedding pictures. Good luck and if you do take some post them.

Thanks everyone. I was told by my MOH (oldest sister) that I should not get engagement pictures nor have a bridal shower if I am getting married out of state. (i think she is jealous that she did not think of it when she got married)
