Hello Everyone:

A couple months back I ordered my e-ring :sunny: and began reading posts on this site about engagement ideas. My soon to be finacee is a HUGE Mickey fan and I had planned on asking her at Disney World. Well, unfortunately the trip doesn't look like it will work out so I'm trying to think of alternate ways to ask her while still using a Mickey or Disney theme. I have seen the Mickey & Minnie snow globe where they are getting married and thought this might be an excellent gift that I can somehow tie in a marriage proposal. I have also found out that I can obtain a glass slipper from Arribas and I could use this. So now I'm stuck trying to determine which way to go and I'm hoping you all can give me your thoughts/ideas. Should I go with one over the other... maybe both? Any other ideas anyone can suggest?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Cheers

Do you have any preferences as to the location or whether it's around other people, family, etc?

I like the idea of giving her the Mickey/Minnie globe with a ring tied around it with a big bow!

Is there a nice scenic area where you live? This is just an idea but you could do a treasure hunt disney style...get a few object and create clues at each spot (first could be micket ears, next a plush holding a message to a clue) The last and final thing will be the snow globe. She will probably look at it a be like hmmm.,..then you can come out with the slipper in hand (ring in it of course) and ask her to be the princess in you fairytale ...happily ever after....wahtever you want to say? OH...but get on your knees please! :wizard:

That's a really cute idea. :cloud9:

It would be really cute to put the ring in this:

or if you really want to be sneaky (not wedding):

My DH put my ring in a Sorcerer Mickey box on a pillow he sewed himself! :)

good luck!!!

Cryssi- that top mickey/minnie wedding box is ADORABLE...is that lenox?

yes, Lenox! the pic is a clickable link...! :)

I just love the Lenox stuff. I really like the cake topper, but we just did the regular mickey and minnie cake topper. I think that box would make a fantastic e-ring holder! LOL

Absolutley cryssi..it is beautiful...maybe you could present the ering in that box instead of the slipper...or put a little slipper in the box? is that toooo much lol? (I have problems...I love it all!)

I found this on Disney's website...

it says that the base slides out and reveals a secret compartment...would something like this work for your proposal?

Best Wishes!

I wanted to thank everyone for their ideas and suggestions. I never realized Lenox made treasure boxes until I saw Cryssi's post. I decided that I wanted to get the Mickey & Minnie treasure box from Lennox. I went to their web site one evening to find out that they were back ordered until 11/17.... the next day I was going to order and found that they had pushed out the available date to Feb. of 06! I was heartbroken for about 10 minutes... but a quick google search lead me to a company that had one in stock!

So I now have the treasure box in which I am going to use for my proposal. My plan is to take her to a romantic dinner first, following it up with a carriage ride. I plan on presenting her the Mickey & Minnie treasure box during the ride to ask her for her hand in marriage.

Thanks everyone!

:teeth:

awesome! can't wait to hear all about it... :)
