Hi I just came across this website. I would appreciate any opinions on romantic places to propose, preferably in the Magic Kingdom. Additionally, i'll proposing to my girlfriends 6yr old to become her dad. I know you can pay $$$ for the dinner with cinderella etc...I've heard about a wishing well somewhere? Any thoughts-ideas would be appreciated. We're leaving May 16.

Hey there,

I made an account just so I could try and help answer your questions and reply to my favorite planning journals. :) I have been a lurker for a very long time... :rotfl:

Cinderella's fountain is right near the castle itself. A couple of girls here have been proposed to there... Cinderella16 comes to mind. I can't post links yet, but maybe you could do a search for her planning journal. It is postHere's a link to here post which has a bunch of pictures of the fountain itself, so you know what you are looking for:

As for the 6 year old, does she like the Disney princesses? If so, maybe you can take her to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (also in the Magic Kingdom) and give her a Disney princess makeover. It can be a little pricey, but I imagine a 6 year would love it! (Heck, even some girls on these boards want to do it... :rotfl:) Here's a link for that as well:

Dinner with Cinderella, I would assume you mean at Cinderella's Royal Table. I think you need reservations for that, and from what I hear, those go fast. But you can always try calling. One last link:

Hope that helps! Good Luck! :)

Thank you very much Sarah for taking the time to do that. The fountain wasn't exactly what I expected it to look like, but its still an idea. I was thinking about doing it right before the fireworks but it may be difficult to get good pics in the dark. I know Epcot has the flower display going on when I'm there, maybe just do it in the middle of the gardens? I kind of hoped to do it in the Magic Kingdom though, where dreams come true.

I think there is an actually wishing well, but I could not find a picture of it right away. I know I have seen it on the boards before though. It has more ironwork on it, after a quick Google search:

Maybe someone else will pop in with actual pictures they have taken of it.

And during the fireworks show would be lovely too. I have read stories of the guys asking cast members to help out with this. They may be able to get a photopass photographer to take pictures of you proposing during the show. Doesn't hurt to ask. ;)

And the gardens would be beautiful as well. WDWinfo.com has a photo blog of all the current floral displays to see if anything catches your eye:

Quick Edit:
I was in Epcot in March and they had some of the floral displays up already. By far my favorite was of Lady and the Tramp, at the Italy pavillion. So cute! There is a picture of it in the blog site I posted, or you could just wait for me to get to 10 posts and I can post my own image of it. :rotfl:

First of all congratulations! Youf GF will be so surprised, and thinking of her daughter is a wonderful way to propose as well, after all you are going to all be a family:hug:

I was actually proposed to at the wishing well and it was perfect! I have the story in my PJ (link in my sig) and I have pics of the well in my latest TR (also in my sig). Feel free to PM with any questions :)

Ya I understand about the fountain it's in the open EVERYONE is walking by and it's in front of a store. Just reading this thread made me think of when me and my DF got engaged at the wishing well its a little tucked away on the side of the castle and not many people walk by it I have some pictures I'll post and it has a view of the castle! and has little benchs the last time we went we sat on the bench and just sat and talked it was nice to be able to go back to the wishing well and remember that happy moment!

I don't recall ever seeing it in person either... I should have gone when I was there in March! Oh well, guess that just means I will have to go back, eh? ;)

Lol ya my DF was VERY surprised that I've never been to it before. I'm orginal from miami so I grew up going to Disney atleast twice a month so I can pretty much tell you where what is bathrooms, resturants, etc... but I had no idea where it was I thought it was new!! :lmao: It's amazing cause no one really knows about it so. Yes you'll have to go back and check it out! :flower3:
