I'm kicking myself because I spent forever writing this story about 5 minutes ago and my internet browser decided to get funky and now its all down the tube. So i'm starting from fresh once again
!! Oh well. when I was first going to post this story I wanted to make sure that it was thought out well because it is the most sweetest thing anyone could do.
I first met my fiancee when we were in high school. I just moved from a different area and didn't know anyone. I knew for sure I wasn't going to try and date any jocks because the ones that I had met I didn't like at all. We had stayed classmates every year and I didn't hear wind of him being interested in me until we were juniors (we graduated the same year). I knew I didn't want to skip out on another Sadie Hawkins dance so I mustered up the courage and asked him to the dance. Ironically, he was a football player
. Until we had graduated we spent as much time together as possible. I knew this was the guy for me after 2 years. He told me that after two months he knew he wanted to marry me
.
He didn't have a disney obsession when we first started dating. It took a trip with my parents to get that disney bug to bite him. I knew that we'd be going to DLR more and more. For our first trip to DLR, we had to ask my father if it would be okay for us to go on our first vacation alone because my father is a traditional Filipino Catholic man. He said yes of course, but what I didn't know was that my fiance, shyboy72, had visited my parents 8 months before that and asked them permission to marry me. He even brought pictures of several rings to help him choose the right one ! He is SOO sweet
.
He was so nervous the day we arrived and I didn't know why. I thought that it had to do with traveling on an airplane or not having enough rest. Months before he had this big idea of getting a characature done of us at the park. I thought that it was silly and tried to brush it off but he REALLY wanted to do it for some reason. We were at the park for half the day and it was kind of hot (it was June) and we were all sweaty from walking around so we headed back to the hotel to take showers and get freshened up. When we got back to the park we went over to New Orleans Square to get ourselves drawn.
When we first got there, she had put a sign on her stand that I didn't pay attention to. It read "Wedding Proposal in Process. Shhh
". Everyone was passing by and were smiling and saying "how cute" and I had thought that it was just people admiring her work. During the process, I noticed that he was getting sweaty already and that he wasn't smiling. I kept nudging him and making him laugh because I did NOT want him to look like a big frowner in the picture. When the picture was finished, she turned it around and a bubble was above shyboy72's head read "Will You Marry Me?" I looked at it again and thought "how weird" haha. I was thinking "oh god, my dad is going to kill me when he reads that". I didn't even process he was proposing to me until I turned and saw him kneeling on the ground. I was so shocked all I could say was "oh my god." A man leaned in towards me and said "you're gonna say yes right ? right ?? " and i realized that I hadn't given him a response. Of course I said yes !!!
My fiancee is the best man in the whole world and I love him so much. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to let my whole family in on the secret a year before the trip and NO one leaked it. My family is a bunch of big mouths so kudos for them for trying as hard as they did. It was one the best moments of my life and I thank him so much for making it for me!
Its been about 3 years since that trip and I'm glad to say that we are still together, not married yet, but going strong ! I'm finishing college before we get settled but I can't wait for the day !
Thanks for taking the time to read this loooooong post !
