End of paper fps on jan 22 nd?

January 22nd!

Anyone at the parks? More specifically, DHS or Epcot?

Ok, FP+ is so confusing to me, and I'm sure will remain that way until I actually go there and experience it. So can I just confirmation that I'm understanding what I'm reading, or can someone link me to a thread that breaks it all down? So rides are broken up into tiers? And then you can get 1 FP from each tier? but you can get more than three per park? What if you do more than one park in a day? Is it per park, or per day? Also, is what I am understanding from this thread that starting any time now they are taking fast pass away from everyone who is not staying on property. So if your not on property you are just completely out of luck forever and have to wait in standby?

Piggybacking onto Sean's question: Can you plan to hop? That is, FP+ for Soarin' in the morning and FP+ for TSMM in the evening?

no you cannot use FP+ in two parks in one day you can only use the three allotted at one park per day. This may change in the future but right now you cannot use FP at multiple parks in one day.

Currently you are limited to three fastpasses a day

these three fastpasses must be made in the same park.

Currently only Epcot and DHS have tiered attractions, these allow you to choose one attraction from tier one (the big busy rides TT, Soarin, TSMM, RNR ETC) and two from tier two (all the other attractions many of which have no need for fp such as living with the land)

MK and AK have no tier system at the moment, and you can choose any three attractions.

You must select three attractions, even if you only want to do one or two, if this is the case out of courtesy please use the selections you know you wont do to rides that are low demand

Off site guests can use FP+ however they cannot book any attractions until they are at the park, they will not be able to reserve x amount of days out that on site guest get, it is as yet unknown what this will do in terms of availability (will wdw do all on a first come first served basis, or save a percentage every day for bookings made on the day)

Another operational question. If we are going to DHS, and two of us want to ride ToT and two of us want to do the Great Movie Ride, can we split our party for FP+ reservations and get two FP+ for each ride at approximately the same time?

yes as long as there are FPs available for both rides

Here now and have mixed feelings about FP+. I will say that what sucks for those off property and also for me on my first day since we bought our APs on arrival: If you do not have tickets prior to arrival or are staying off property, you have to do the dash to the FP+ stations and stand in lines, which are ugly. Upon the arrival of your turn, you are helped by a cast member with an iPad and your fast passes are selected and saved to your park ticket or magic band. Sine our new APs were not yet set up to our account, we did not have the option of changing our fast passes on the fly on our phones. I think this sis the same for off property guests as well. I think they have to go to kiosks or cast member manned stations to make changes. The stand by lines for the actual rides are probably shorter than the FP+ station lines.

Day 2-7, we have our tix set up and we can pre-book our FP+. So far, we have been successful in getting most of what we want, near the times we want by making them the night before and in one case, the day of, our visit to the park.

BUT, it is really slow here right now. I don't know how well the last minute planning will work during busy times.

Also, to answer the original question, on 1/22, paper fast passes were still being handed out at EPCOT. Don't know about today since we were at AK where they have already been removed.

In MK today (1/24) and no paper FP machines in sight
