End of June or early Aug.?

Hi! I'm planning a trip to Universal in 2008. I've never stayed onsite and I'm really looking forward to it! We have a teacher relative coming w/ us, so we can't go off season. Is there a diff. in crowds btw. the end of June and early Aug. (very late July)? I'm also wondering if one month is better than the other in regards to paying less for the on-site hotels? We have AAA and I also became a member of Loew's. Do they even run specials typically during this time of the year? Thanks for the help!!

Beginning of August is typically the hottest time. We were just at WDW first week of August and it was very hot. heat index 115 everyday. Glad we did not plan parks.

I would suggest the end of June because it's not usually as hot as August. But, if you're staying onsite you shouldn't worry about the crowds. The FOTL access will spoil you and you'll zoom through the lines.

if you can go at early or mid june, you would have less crowds.

i stay away in august.
too crowded and hot in the parks.

we enjoy end of June...raring to go once skool's out

think the crowds are substantially lighter the 3rd week as opposed to end of month/running into 4th of July travellers

one year we had 10 inches of rain (in one day ). Shredded our $ store ponchos, MK was almost empty ...locals have sense to come in out of the rain.

Last 2 years, only rained 1 day over our 9 day trips it's not the heat, it's the humidity. of course it was 97 in Pittsburgh yesterday, if i have to be hot would rather be in Orlando.

I have been the beginning of June, July & now August. I have to say that this was the absolute hottest it has ever been. The parks were also more crowded than I remember from previous summer visits. We will never go at that time of year again!
