Thinking of planning a trip for the last week of April, first week of May, 2007. Need info on weather, crowds, grad nights, park hours, temps, spring break, etc... Thanks for all your info.

Signing on for a response. We'll be there 4/29-5/5. Our first trip at that time. I know the F&G show is then and that's lovely.

last 2 years we went last week of april, weather was good, didnt need jackets, swam in the pool the first year, second year it was rainy. :umbrella:

We went the week of the Celebration kick-off this year....most of the days prior to May 5. and I though it was a good time to go. While this year it wasn't hot yet, I was comfortable wearing capri's and t-shirts and a light jacket at night, some of the previous years we've been here it has been rainy (off and on) and one year it was blazing hot....mid 90's everyday, so the weather can be very inconsistent and unpredictable this time of year.

As far as the crowds go that has been more consistent. Being that we just got back and dealt with pre-Xmas crowds, May is EXTREMELY managable and I wouldn't hesitate going back this time (as a matter a fact I'm thinking of that same time :goodvibes also). However you couldn't pay to go back this past week again, early Dec. is the closest I will go to Christmas from now on.

Grad nights in May were never a problem as the park opens for the grads only. There are a few nights mostly over the weekend MK closes early for this event, but doesn't bother us at all. Spring break crowds definitely clear out by this time and the parks are open fairly regular hours (except MK on grad nights as I previously mentioned). I recommend going this time year. :earsboy:

We went a few years ago at this time. Low crowds--loved that. There was a freak heat wave in FL while we were there. The CMs said it was unusual and felt like August. We didn't mind--just took our breaks and enjoyed the air conditioning.

We went last year April 25 - May 1st. It was pretty hot most days. High 80's, low 90's. We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and were not uncomfortable. The wind was a little chilly when we were wet early in the day, but then the temp got up to 89. It only rained one night while we were there. We were trying to watch Illuminations. It was a monsoon!!!

The crowds were very manageable. We went back this October and I was surprised by how much more crowded it was.

You will have a blast!!

I also went last year April 21 - 25. Weather was warm during the day -shorts and t-shirts, great pool weather. At night we were cold so we threw on sweatshirts and were good to go! *Disclaimer - we live in Southern California, so anything below 70 degrees is FREEZING! :cold: Crowds didn't seem too bad at all, our longest wait was 45mins for RNR.

We went for 10 days a week before that, on the NE Spring Break. The weather was terrific, the crowds were pretty high. Even with the Spring Break Crowds, it was a wonderful time & by using our heads & our Fast Passes, we did everything with very little wait. I imagine the week after would have been divine, tho.
The skies were that Glorious Crisp Blue, the weather was the low 80's by day, and maybe high 60's by night - Just glorious. I loved the F&G Fest plantings & got some great ideas for home.
I think you picked a wonderful time to go.

We went two years ago during that time and had a great time. Weather was really nice. Had one day of real rain and only one day of light mist. Was very hot one of our days the rest were warm. Crowds weren't bad at all. We were able to do everything we set out to do.

We went the last week of April in 2004 & the weather was great!! The temperature was around 85 during the day-a little cooler at night. The crowds were not that bad. Going again this year & I have a feeling with Easter being
later this year it will be more crowded. We will get to the parks at opening & use
fast passes then hop to another park.

We went April 27 - May 4th in 2004 and loved it. The weather was perfect in my opinion, 85 during the day, mid 70's at night. It rained once or twice...it worked in our favor, the rain cleared MGM out and we had the park pretty much to ourselves!! We're going around that time again this year (April 29) and I can't wait.

Use your fast passes for popular attractions, the only rides that had a bit of a wait were space mountain, rock'n roller coaster and tower of terror, without fast pass the waits were 40 minutes at the peak time of day.

I'm glad I'm seeing alot of good responses, as this is the time we plan on going this year. Also 40-minute waits are not bad at all in May considering we saw that a few weeks ago (early Dec), and that was supposed to be the 'slow' time.
