We checked in at AKV on 8/5. We spent 2 nights on points, 2 nights on cash and then 4 nights on points. Everything was booked thru mbr services. Upon check in, I paid for the DDP. I rec'd a piece of paper stating that we had the plan from 8/5 to 8/13. We head out and enjoy our days at disney.

On 8/8 at AK, DH and I ate at seperate CS. I adv our cashier (AK restrantous) that we were on the DDP-- she began having problems swiping our KTW cards thru. At the same time DH is calling me on the cell saying that he had to pay for CS at flame tree bc they said we didn't have the DDP on our cards. (he did not ask for a manager). Our cashier called her manager over and he tried to get the card to work. He had her put the order thru as cash and helped me over to our table w/ the food. He said he would call AKV for us to see what was wrong w/ our card. He returned a while later and said that AKV does not know why there is no dining- it is not showing up on our ressie. He said AKV adv us to return to the resort to sort it out. I did not get his name but he was soo nice. He said not to worry about the cost of the meal- it was comp. DH shows up and I told him we needed to return to AKV or find a house phone to call them. So we headed for the house phone route-- couldn't find one. I stopped at the DVC booth at dino land, the agent there let me use his phone to call AKV. I hit a road block there w/ them. They were insisting I was using the wrong KTW cards-- I assured her that we only rec'd one set and the dates were for the entire trip. Then she tried telling me that I demagitized the stripe on the card by having it too close to my cellphone. I assured her that the card was in no proximity of my cell PLUS It happened to DH at the same time. Then she said that the ressie does not show DDP on it. She said that we could charge to the KTW cards our snacks and TS at yak and yeti and deal with it when we returned to AKV. We ended up going up to guest relations to see if they could help figure out what happened w/ our ddp. They also said the ressie didn't show ddp on it. We continued on our afternoon at AK.

Upon returning to AKV for the evening I went down to the front desk. Advised them of the problems we encountered. I also presented the receipts that they asked us to bring (snacks/yak&yeti/flame tree). The CM at concierge took all my info and then preceded to tell me that there was no cc on our room account. I told her that I had provided a cc upon check in and also signed for the ddp at that time. She ended up having a manager come out to help me. He said that since we were on a linked ressie that the computer does not recognize a linked ressie. I told him that we have been doing linked ressies for the last 3 yrs at OKW and never encountered a problem like this. He ended up saying that what OKW does is their business and this is what they were told. I said that MS assured me all ressies are linked. He said that MS is giving out wrong info. He says that DDP and cc on account does not continue on the next linked ressie. He then went on to tell me that he had to redo our entire ressie and would have to issue new KTW cards for us. He offered to have them delivered to our room since it would take a while.

I am soo confused that the linking is the reason of the mess. I have the paper that shows DDP for the entire ressie. IF it did not recognize DDP on linked ressies = how could we use it on Friday w/o any problems. Has anyone else encountered this before?? I will now know to check upon checkin that all info is on all ressies. We followed up a few days before checkout -- good thing bc they billed us again for the DDP -which they had to credit since they billed us upon check in. They also billed us for our snacks at AK even though I provided the receipt. (DH went back down later w/ the receipt again to have them credit us properly).

Is this bc they are a new resort?? I did manage to stay calm during all the interactions with the CMs. It was more frustating than anything.

I guess this is more of a heads up to those w/ linked ressies to make sure all info is in your ressies

Check your point balance on the Member website and make sure your don;t have any points in holding status that shouldn't be there. It sounds like a problem similar to what happens when front desk personnel cancel and rebook a reservation due to them making an error, if that is the case, they almost always mess up and put some points in holding. Whether your points are messed up or not, this is enough of an issue that I would contact DVC Member Satisfaction, and at least let them know what when on.

We had trouble last year when we had a twice-linked reservation like yours (points, cash, points). We were told up front that they could link the first two, but could not do it the second time. We also had the dining plan, so we had to go down to the front desk and get new key cards with dining credits after the second change. We were told it was a flaw in the computer program.

On the changeover day we had two sets of cards with dining credits on each, so the day was fun keeping track of which cards to use for which meals.

I have three different reservation numbers for a trip coming up next week. I was told while yes they are linked, for the DDP, I need to do one night, then 3 nights, then 1 night. I have to check in, out, in, out, but it is also three different resorts, so I get that.

But if you are in the same room the entire trip, it does not make any sense that you have to get different keys, etc.
