Enclave Suites

Hi we are staying at the Enclave Suites on I drive this year and wondered if anyone knew what it was like, good or bad reviews would be helpful.

Hi We stayed at Enclave Suites last March for 4 nights. I have never reviewed anything but I'll try. Check in was no problem, they have an indoor pool (small) adjacent to the ressie welcoming room. They also have a pool outside and we did not use them. Staff were friendly. They give you coupons for everyone in your party for use for their complimentary continetal breakfast but to be honest it mostly sat in our fridge as it came in a cardboard box including 1 piece of fruit, 1 prepacked muffin or breakfast pastry and a juice. You also recieved a small coffee. They have an upgraded hot breakfast for a charge. Staff were friendly in this area. Also, I believe there is a Pizza Hut Express right in the building. We ate at Chili's which is right next door.
The room was spacious. We got a two bedroom, It had a full size fridge, microwave, even dishwasher , coffee maker, kettle and blender..also dishes and cups. TV in living area and both bedrooms with cable. The windows are old or at least older.

The carpet was older. The balcony made me scared as it was small and felt unsecure. I did not enjoy any time out there. Also you could see others rooms on your floor if you are in the right spot so keep your curtains closed at night. At least we could in our room on our first night.
Now here is where I can offer some information. Our deadbolt did not work and our steal "flipover" lock was hanging by screws. I was travelling with my 3 kids, One is male 6'6 other 2 11 and 12 (boys). First time in Orlando. And I dont care where I am I want my deadbolt, but it was late, My oldest son said to forget about it but I called the front desk and asked for a room with a lock on the door. By this time it was almost midnight so I asked for a room change in the morning.. I am up at 7am most mornings so I called first thing. The desk clerk said to come down and she would give me keys. She without attitude handed me 4 room keys to 'look around" . So I did, thats where I saw the differences in the rooms. Some had much newer carpets. A couple had old fridges, the type with wire shelves. Different appliances etc. The one I picked was I believe, 301 which was a corner unit in building 3 or 1 (sorry I am not sure) but because it was a corner it had a walkin hallway, and was really spacious, almost like an apt. This unit had no balcony which was totally fine by me. But why I picked it was in the hallway area you saw that bungie jumping go -kart track place from our window. Excellent view of that. We could watch people bungie from high up.. The other window I believe was of the parking lot. I returned the other keys to the front desk and when I returned to our room there was already a maintenance man there fixing the lock. We moved anyway because the other room was MUCH nicer. We had a great stay. One thing though if you use the safe, they cut you a key special and if you don't return it, it is an automatic $100. on your room bill. On checkout day, I forgot it and had to leave universal to return it. Also, my son left his very nice walkman with his cds in the hallway and was really upset about it once he realized. We were at Discovery Cove and I called the hotel and after describing it they said they had it and would hold it for me. Someone had turned it in, which I thought was great! The hotel was honest for returning it. All in all I would stay there again. Hope this helps you.

Thanks very much for this information, we have a 2 bedroomed apartment booked as well, i have read some reviews on trip advisor but it made me a bit worried, but as long as it is clean , although i wasnt sure about the balcony, our tour company that we booked through said there were balcony or terrace rooms and i wasnt sure if terrace rooms where on the ground floor or not.

We like to be higher up and i understand that there are 2 buildings as well so wondered if there was a difference between the two.

It was not spotless, I mean you could pick it apart if you tried if you know what I mean, but keep in mind the different quality rooms that I saw, Our first one was like a shag carpet, although clean it still gave me the heebjeebees.

i think that the enclave are maybe privately owned apartments and that why there is such a difference in room decor ,etc .

We were going to book here for last September and decided against it after looking at www.tripadvisor.com.

Cheryl, I don't know if they are privately owned, I mean they all pretty much had the same(couch tv fridge etc) but it almost seemed as some of the rooms or part of some of the rooms were redone a few at a time instead of redoing the whole hotel. I don't know. I know the reviews on trip advisor are not that great and I admit it was a last minute choice last year as we had to reschedule because my son had to have his appendix out in an emergency but I am not sorry. We weren't "buying" the place ha ha if you know what I mean.

My family of 5 stayed here for our first few days of this trip. We booked through VRBO--that may be a huge difference as well, there are some units that are individually upkept (according to the owners and the front desk). Though it is an older hotel, I would definitely stay again. It was clean, safe, and you can't beat the location!! You can see the fireworks from the balcony. The pool and HOT TUB are clean and great after a long day at the parks. Even the people staying at the hotel seemed friendlier than other places we stayed on this trip (we stayed at 3 different places around the area) yeah, I know...PP planning on my part!!!
