I agree, and I don't think Disney is trying to "require" to purchase a photo, no more than they "require" you to purchase a ride photo. (Otherwise their policy would be to not allow personal cameras at ANY meet and greet). I think they are just trying to control the chaos during is a "show" (albeit a small one).People should not be required to purchase a photo at a meet & greet.
I really don't think it's that chaotic for a parent or two at a time to stand up and move over behind the Photopass photographer to snap a quick photo then go sit down.
The problem is, you assume that everyone will be courteous and polite
. I am sure there are plenty of "no one else in the world matters but me" parents that helped create that policy in the first place. You know .. the same people that decide to stop with their giant family in the middle of a crowded thoroughfare to discuss where to go next .. or the same people that feel its okay to wiggle your way to the front at the last minute and stand in front of children for a fireworks show?
Disney is filled with them. Heh.

I feel like the CM should have been better about finding all the little kids that wanted to participate. Im glad I know I might need to say something to get her picked. It seems like the photopass photo is the way to go with the lighting, but I would still like to take my own. Did your husband get up to take the shot or did he take it from where he was sitting? Any tips on where to sit to get the shot with Belle? I wonder if everyone rushes to those spots for that reason.
